PT Jamkrindo has donated 45 portable handwashing stations to communities in Surakarta, Klaten, and Boyolali, Central Java. This initiative aims to reduce the spread of COVID-19 by encouraging better public hygiene in high-traffic areas.
Jamkrindo President Director, Putrama Wahju Setyawan, personally attended the handover ceremony, which was conducted in collaboration with PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) and Yayasan Watak Bangsa.
“With COVID-19 transmission still occurring in crowded public spaces, we are providing portable handwashing stations to support communities in Surakarta, Klaten, and Boyolali,” said Putrama during the New Normal Traditional Market Event at Kadipolo Market, Surakarta, on Friday (March 26, 2021).
The event was also attended by Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka, underscoring the local government’s support for this initiative.
The portable handwashing stations have been placed in key public locations, including: Bus stops along Jalan Slamet Riyadi, Surakarta, Mojosongo Market, Boyolali, Cokro Kembang Market, Klaten, Kadipolo Market, Surakarta
This initiative, carried out through collaboration and synergy with other state-owned enterprises (BUMN) and stakeholders, is expected to encourage broader public participation in maintaining hygiene practices, making the program more sustainable.
Wakhyu Hidayattulloh, Regional Leader V of PT Jamkrindo, emphasized that Jamkrindo’s contribution goes beyond business operations, extending to community engagement and public health initiatives.
“We hope this donation will also serve as a reminder to the public about the importance of handwashing in reducing the risk of COVID-19 transmission,” said Wakhyu.
By donating these portable handwashing stations, Jamkrindo aims to support the successful implementation of the "New Normal" adaptation in public spaces. Encouraging hygienic habits is essential to preventing further spread of the virus.
