PT Jamkrindo provided prosthetic limbs to three individuals with disabilities. This initiative was carried out under the company's Environmental and Social Responsibility Program (TJSL) in celebration of its 51st anniversary on July 1, 2021.
Jamkrindo President Director Putrama Wahju Setyawan highlighted that the TJSL program consists of Jamkrindo Social Care, Jamkrindo Education Care, and Jamkrindo Health Care. The prosthetic limb donation falls under Jamkrindo Social Care, aimed at empowering individuals with disabilities to remain active and creative despite their limitations.
“This donation is meant to inspire and support people with disabilities, helping them overcome challenges and continue pursuing their goals. We hope this initiative brings meaningful benefits,” Putrama stated in a press release on Tuesday (06/23/2021).
The prosthetic limbs were provided to Yusmanto Arie Bondan (46), Nano Mochamad Wachyudin (34), and Windu Tria Rosalino (13) through the Visi Maha Karya Foundation. Yusmanto lost his leg due to diabetes, while Nano and Windu suffered leg amputations following traffic accidents.
Expressing gratitude, Yusmanto shared that before receiving the donation, he had crafted his own prosthetic leg from PVC pipes and rubber tires, which were insufficient for daily activities. "I sincerely appreciate Jamkrindo’s support, as my homemade prosthetic did not provide adequate mobility," he said.
In addition to providing prosthetic limbs, Jamkrindo also carried out Jamkrindo Education Care initiatives, including donations for honorary teachers and educational facilities. This included the donation of four laptops to SDN 05 Pemongkong in East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, handed over by Mataram Branch Head Rian Widipratomo on Wednesday (06/23/2021).
These initiatives are part of Jamkrindo’s 51st-anniversary social programs, which also include: Jamkrindo Social Care: Distribution of 5,100 food packages and financial aid for orphaned children, Jamkrindo Health Care: Donation of three ambulances for communities in need and distribution of 5,100 health kits containing vitamins, face masks, and hand sanitizers, Jamkrindo Education Care: 51 merit-based scholarships for children of healthcare workers, Support for 51 honorary teachers, 51 scholarships for children of Jamkrindo’s outsourced employees, Additional educational support facilities.
These initiatives were not limited to Jamkrindo’s headquarters, as distributions were conducted simultaneously across 9 Regional Offices and 56 Branch Offices nationwide.
