Reviving Economic Recovery Spirit, Jamkrindo Recognizes MSME Entrepreneurs

Jakarta – PT Jamkrindo continues to support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by hosting the Jamkrindo UMKM Appreciation Awards 2021. This event, held for the third time, serves as a platform to recognize Jamkrindo's guaranteed and fostered MSME partners, encouraging them to thrive despite economic challenges.

Sulis Usdoko, Director of HR, General Affairs, and Compliance at PT Jamkrindo, emphasized the strategic role of MSMEs in national economic growth, particularly in accelerating economic recovery during the pandemic.

"The theme for this year's Jamkrindo UMKM Appreciation Awards is ‘UMKM Bangkit dengan Semangat Kolaborasi’ (MSMEs Rise with the Spirit of Collaboration). This aligns with our commitment to supporting MSMEs in overcoming pandemic-related challenges through collaboration and innovation," Sulis stated.

As Indonesia’s largest credit guarantee company, Jamkrindo collaborates with: Government bodies (Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Ministry of SOEs, Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs), Financial institutions, MSME communities and business networks across Indonesia

Sulis highlighted three crucial aspects of MSME development, known as the "3Cs": Commitment (foundation) – Strong dedication to long-term MSME growth, Capacity (structure) – Continuous skill and knowledge development, Consistency (protection) – Sustained efforts to ensure business resilience.

"For MSMEs to play an optimal role in the economy, collaboration is essential. It must involve strong commitment as a foundation, capacity-building for acceleration, and most importantly, consistency. Without consistency, all planning and implementation strategies risk failure," Sulis added.

Beyond training and assistance, Jamkrindo aims to integrate MSMEs into a broader economic ecosystem that is innovative and technology-driven.

Upcoming Initiative for 2022: Jamkrindo will develop a roadmap to connect MSMEs under a digital business networking ecosystem, expanding their market reach and growth opportunities. During the pandemic, Jamkrindo was entrusted with supporting the National Economic Recovery Program (PEN) through credit guarantees for Working Capital Loans (KMK PEN), enabling MSMEs to sustain operations.

As of September 2021: Total Guaranteed Credit Volume: IDR 21.477 trillion, Jamkrindo’s Contribution: IDR 14.297 trillion, Jamsyar’s Contribution: IDR 7.179 trillion, Total MSMEs Supported: 1,422,958 businesses

"The PEN program is a testament to the government's commitment to protecting, sustaining, and strengthening MSMEs' financial capabilities," Sulis stated.

In addition to KMK PEN, Jamkrindo actively supports MSMEs through: Entrepreneurship training and business mentoring, Funding for micro and small businesses (PUKM), Capacity-building programs to enhance MSME resilience and independence. Beyond business empowerment, Jamkrindo also engages in community welfare programs, including: Educational scholarships & teacher support, Social aid for persons with disabilities, Healthcare assistance (ambulances, medical packages), Infrastructure support for schools and communities

"We hope our contributions will provide meaningful benefits to society," Sulis concluded.

Prior to the main event, Jamkrindo organized a series of training sessions, including: Social media optimization for MSMEs, Business coaching clinics & mentoring, Entrepreneurial workshops, Business registration assistance (NIB creation), National Business Idea Competition for MSME Mentors

Grand Finale: Held on Indonesia’s Youth Pledge Day (October 28) as part of Financial Inclusion Month, the event gathered 1,500 MSMEs virtually. Panel of Judges: Roy Baskoro – Chair of Fokus UMKM Jakarta, Cahyadi Joko S. – Chairman of the Indonesian Business Development Services Association (ABDSI). Total Prize Pool: IDR 157 million, awarded to top-performing MSMEs and business ideas.
