Cianjur, December 2022 – PT Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Jamkrindo) has once again demonstrated its commitment to disaster relief by delivering emergency aid packages, daily necessities, trauma healing services, and infrastructure support to victims of the recent earthquake in Cianjur, West Java. This initiative is part of Jamkrindo's Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) Program, reflecting the company's dedication to easing the burden on disaster-affected communities.
The aid, directly distributed by Jamkrindo’s board of directors and employees, included food packages, daily supplies, and tents to shelter displaced families. To reach remote areas inaccessible by four-wheeled vehicles, the team used motorbikes, ensuring the timely and effective delivery of aid.
Jamkrindo’s relief efforts align with the vision of the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir, who urged all SOEs to synergize and support earthquake victims in Cianjur. “Jamkrindo will continue to collaborate with various parties to accelerate disaster recovery. These contributions aim to help affected communities rebuild their lives,” said Hendro Padmono, President Director of PT Jamkrindo.
The aid delivered on Saturday, December 3, 2022, marks the fourth phase of Jamkrindo’s disaster relief efforts. Previous contributions included food supplies, medicines, and baby essentials distributed through main relief posts in Perhutani and other disaster-affected areas.
Additionally, Jamkrindo has partnered with PAUD Inspirasi Indonesia (PII) to offer trauma healing services for earthquake victims, particularly children and adults. "Trauma healing is crucial in helping victims recover emotionally from the tragedy. It provides psychological support and motivation to rebuild their resilience," Hendro explained.
Jamkrindo also extended its aid to the Al-Kautsar Islamic Boarding School, contributing to the renovation of damaged facilities. This initiative was led by Jamkrindo’s Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ Jamkrindo).
In addition, UPZ Jamkrindo donated a community service vehicle to enhance mobility and support residents’ transportation needs. This move demonstrates Jamkrindo's holistic approach to disaster relief, addressing both immediate and long-term needs.
According to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the earthquake, with a magnitude of 5.6, struck 10 km southwest of Cianjur, West Java. The disaster caused extensive damage to buildings and resulted in significant loss of life. The local government has declared a state of emergency to facilitate disaster response and victim evacuation efforts.
