State-Owned Enterprises Donate IDR 2.7 Billion to HKBP

Nine companies under Indonesia’s State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) provided significant support for the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) within the Protestant Christian Batak Church (HKBP) network and other diakonia services. The donation, totaling IDR 2.75 billion, was officially handed over during a ceremony at the HKBP Raja Pontas Building on Friday, February 24, 2023.

The donation was represented by Arya Mahendra Sinulingga, Special Staff to the Minister of BUMN, accompanied by DPR RI Member Martin Manurung and several ministry staff members. HKBP warmly welcomed the assistance, with Secretary-General Rev. Dr. Victor Tinambunan and Diakonia Head Rev. Debora P. Sinaga, M.Th., expressing their gratitude on behalf of the church.

The ceremony opened with a prayer led by Rev. Debora Sinaga, followed by a speech from Rev. Victor Tinambunan, who thanked BUMN for their concern and generosity. "A donation of IDR 2,750,540,000 is no small amount," he stated, emphasizing the importance of using and allocating the funds effectively.

Allocation of Donations:

  1. Pertamina: IDR 679 million for the HKBP District VIII Diakonia Program.
  2. SIG: IDR 250 million for a food truck for differently-abled individuals at Panti Karya Hephata HKBP.
  3. Antam Tbk: IDR 242.25 million for a food truck for differently-abled individuals at RBM Hephata HKBP District IX.
  4. Inalum: IDR 242.25 million for a food truck for differently-abled individuals at RBM Hephata HKBP District IX.
  5. PTPN 4: IDR 234.5 million for a food truck for differently-abled individuals at Panti Karya Hephata HKBP.
  6. Pupuk Indonesia Holding Company: IDR 207.5 million for livestock infrastructure and borewell construction.
  7. Bank BTN: IDR 207.5 million for cattle farming infrastructure and borewell construction.
  8. IFG: IDR 587.54 million for facilities at the HKBP Girls’ Dormitory Unit.
  9. ID Food: IDR 100 million for quail farming infrastructure.

Remarks and Future Collaboration

Arya Sinulingga highlighted BUMN’s commitment to fostering economic development in local communities through collaborations with organizations such as HKBP. He emphasized that this initiative was only the beginning of continued support from BUMN for the community, particularly in North Tapanuli.

Martin Manurung, Vice Chair of Commission VI DPR RI, also attended the ceremony and praised the collaborative effort to boost local economic growth and social services.

Gratitude and Follow-Up Activities

HKBP expressed their gratitude by presenting plaques and certificates to each participating company. Following the handover, attendees inspected the donated food trucks at Panti Karya Hephata and enjoyed locally sourced coffee provided by the center.

This donation reflects BUMN's ongoing mission to promote social welfare and support economic empowerment through impactful initiatives across Indonesia.
