Jamkrindo Responds Swiftly with Aid to Plumpang and Natuna

JAKARTA – PT Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Jamkrindo) extended assistance to victims of the landslide in Natuna, Riau Islands, and the fire incident in Plumpang, DKI Jakarta. The aid included essential supplies, such as basic necessities and baby care items.

Dody Novarianto, Corporate Secretary of PT Jamkrindo, stated that the relief efforts are part of the company’s social and environmental responsibility (TJSL) program. The assistance for landslide victims in Natuna was handed over through PT Pelni Persero’s Surabaya branch on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. Meanwhile, aid for fire victims in Plumpang was distributed via Pertamina’s CSR program at the TBBM Plumpang office on Friday, March 3, 2023.

"The aid provided represents the company's rapid response to deliver emergency assistance to disaster victims. We hope that the support we offer can help ease the burden on those affected by the disaster," stated Dody in a press release.

As a credit guarantee company under the Indonesia Financial Group (IFG) holding, Jamkrindo consistently delivers disaster relief assistance to victims of natural disasters across Indonesia. Previous efforts include aid for flood victims in Lebak, Banten; Garut and Sumedang, West Java; Jabodetabek; and the flash flood in Sukabumi, West Java. Additionally, Jamkrindo has provided assistance for victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Palu, Central Sulawesi, as well as the earthquake in Mamuju and Majene, West Sulawesi.

In addition to providing environmental assistance for natural disaster victims, PT Jamkrindo has actively contributed to supporting communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. This included distributing medical equipment, basic necessities, educational scholarships, community economic empowerment assistance, and other aid related to the impact of COVID-19. “Jamkrindo’s presence is a testament to its commitment and care in helping others,” Dody added.

As reported, the landslide occurred on Serasan Island, Natuna, on Monday, March 6, 2023, following heavy rainfall in the area. The disaster not only resulted in loss of life but also forced thousands to evacuate. Meanwhile, in Plumpang, a massive fire broke out on Friday night (March 3, 2023), destroying several buildings, claiming lives, injuring many, and displacing hundreds of people.
