Surabaya – PT Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Jamkrindo) has officially entered into a collaboration with four regional banks: PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Bali (BPD Bali), PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (Bank BD DIY), PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Sumatera Utara (Bank Sumut), and PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Tengah (Bank Jateng) to provide credit guarantees for Agricultural Equipment Credit (Kredit Usaha Alsintan - KUA). The ceremonial signing of the cooperation agreement took place on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Double Tree Hotel, Surabaya. The event was attended by Henry Panjaitan, Director of Business Guarantees at Jamkrindo, Abdul Bari, Director of Institutional and Services at Jamkrindo, the directors of the regional banks, and witnessed by Gede Edy Prasetya, Assistant Deputy of the Capital Market and Financial Institutions at the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
Gede Edy Prasetya emphasized that strengthening the food sector is one of the Government’s key priorities in maintaining the stability of the national economy, especially in the face of climate change threats and global geopolitical dynamics. The Government consistently seeks to improve food security by boosting agricultural productivity, including through the modernization of agricultural machinery (Alsintan). “One of the efforts to promote this is by increasing financing in the agricultural sector, particularly for agricultural machinery, through the People’s Business Credit program,” said Edy.
Henry Panjaitan stated that as a pioneer in credit guarantees in Indonesia, Jamkrindo continues to support the Government’s strategic programs. With its extensive experience in the guarantee industry, Jamkrindo’s involvement in the guarantee of Alsintan credit is expected to contribute to the Government’s efforts in improving food security. "With financing for Agricultural Equipment Credit (KUA), we hope to support the optimization of agricultural production moving forward," said Henry.
Meanwhile, Abdul Bari emphasized Jamkrindo’s ongoing commitment to improving financial accessibility for MSMEs to financial institutions. This commitment is reflected in the various guarantee services that help MSMEs access financing from financial institutions. "As a guarantee company, Jamkrindo plays a key role in bridging feasible MSMEs to access financing with guarantee services. Through this partnership, farmers with viable businesses but who are not yet bankable can be assisted in obtaining credit to increase their business capacity," said Bari.
In addition to collaborating with Jamkrindo, the four regional banks also signed agreements with PT Asuransi Kredit Indonesia (Askrindo), another member of the Indonesia Financial Group (IFG). The signing of this cooperation between the four banks and the two guarantee companies marks a strategic step in the distribution of Agricultural Equipment Credit (KUA), as it is the first time this has been done and will serve as a pioneer for future collaborations.
