Jakarta – In celebration of National Children's Day on July 23, 2024, PT Jamkrindo hosted a mental health education event aimed at both parents and children. The event, titled “Parenting: The Adventure of a Lifetime,” brought together various experts and practitioners in the field of child development and mental health.

In her opening speech, Jamkrindo's Director, Alia Nur Fitri, explained that the purpose of this educational initiative was to mark National Children's Day and address vital issues affecting children’s mental health. Topics covered included parenting in the digital era, bullying prevention, mental health support for children, time management for working mothers, and the importance of fathers in a child’s development.
“Parenting education is crucial for nurturing children. We hope that parenting knowledge can help prevent cases of child abuse and improve the quality of life for Indonesian children,” said Alia Nur Fitri.
A Continuing Commitment to Mental Health Education:
This event is part of Jamkrindo’s ongoing series of educational initiatives targeting students, teachers, and parents. Previous campaigns have focused on topics such as mental health awareness, bullying prevention, sexual violence, and promoting quality education for children.

Expert Insights on Parenting and Technology:
Kasandra Putranto highlighted the complexities of parenting in a rapidly evolving world, particularly with the pervasive influence of technology. She pointed out that excessive technology use among children and teenagers has led to several negative consequences, including limited social skills, shorter attention spans, and both physical and mental health issues.
“With the vast amount of information available online, it becomes difficult for parents to monitor what their children are consuming, including inappropriate content for their age,” Kasandra said. She also emphasized the importance of parents observing their children’s growth and development and guiding them to express their interests and talents while being attuned to their psychological profiles.
Chikita Meidy noted that National Children's Day is the perfect moment for parents to reflect on and renew their commitment to protecting and fulfilling children's rights. “Let’s create a safe and supportive environment for our children to grow,” she said.
Lia Lathifah praised Jamkrindo’s dedication to improving the well-being of Indonesian children. She expressed hope that the strategic collaboration between Jamkrindo and Komnas Anak would continue to enhance the quality of life for children across the country.
