As the only state-owned enterprise (BUMN) specializing in credit guarantees, Perum Jamkrindo has declared its full readiness to provide guarantee support to the North Sumatra Provincial Government (Sumut) and all surrounding Regency/City Governments. This commitment was demonstrated through a panel discussion held in collaboration with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) titled "Socialization of the Role and Function of Guarantee Companies in Developing Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises, and Cooperatives (UMKMK) in North Sumatra Province." The event took place at Niagara Hotel Parapat on Monday (10/11).
In his opening remarks, the President Director of Perum Jamkrindo, Diding S. Anwar, stated that the event, attended by 22 regional heads (Regents and Mayors) and several banks in North Sumatra, aimed to educate the public about supporting the national economy. Established in 1970, Perum Jamkrindo has a vision to become a leading guarantee company supporting national economic development. Its mission is encapsulated in the Tridharma Jamkrindo: first, to provide guarantees for the growth of UMKMK businesses; second, to offer broad and quality services; and third, to deliver benefits to stakeholders based on sound business principles.
He further explained that the company's motto is "UMKMK Solutions Toward Success," and its tagline is "Trusted Partner in Guarantees." Therefore, it is indeed our responsibility and focus to advance UMKMK. We are ready to provide guarantee support to the North Sumatra Provincial Government and local governments, said Diding, who also serves as the Chairman of the Indonesian Guarantee Companies Association (Asippindo).
During the event, he also introduced the panelists, including Yusman, Director of Regulation, Research, and Development II at OJK; Darul Dimasqy K, Director of Non-Bank Industry Insurance Supervision II at OJK; and Yuliarso, Head of Region I Office of Perum Jamkrindo.
In the discussion, Yuliarso explained that Jamkrindo can provide guarantees to help UMKMK access credit for viable businesses that do not meet the technical requirements of banks, particularly collateral requirements. With Jamkrindo's guarantees, banks will be more expansive and secure in disbursing credit/financing to UMKMK. The application process begins with a credit application submitted by UMKMK customers to banks/creditors, he concluded.
