MAROS - The Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (Menkop UKM) of Indonesia, Anak Agung Gede Ngurah Puspayoga, officially launched the issuance of Micro and Small Business Licenses (IUMK) in Maros Regency, South Sulawesi.
The issuance of the IUMK card aims to improve banking services for MSME actors in Maros. The launch event was held at the Allepolea Cooperative (KUD) in Lau District, Maros Regency.
Puspayoga stated that the IUMK card is designed to provide legal certainty and empowerment tools for micro and small business actors (PUMK) to build and develop their businesses.
"The launch of the IUMK card follows up on the joint agreement signed between BRI and three ministries—the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Trade, and the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs—as well as the Indonesian Guarantee Companies Association (Asippindo) on January 30, 2015, at the Ministry of Home Affairs building," he said on Monday (16/3/2015).
He explained that the signing of the memorandum of understanding is part of the implementation of Law No. 20 of 2008 concerning Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Presidential Regulation No. 98 of 2014 concerning Licensing for Micro and Small Businesses, and Minister of Home Affairs Regulation No. 83 of 2015 concerning Guidelines for Issuing Micro and Small Business Licenses.
The IUMK card issuance was previously launched in Denpasar, Bali, and Malang, East Java.
"With the launch of the IUMK, micro and small business actors will receive mentoring for new businesses and gain access to financing from both bank and non-bank financial institutions," he added.
Meanwhile, the President Director of Perum Jamkrindo, Diding S. Anwar, explained that PUMK with the IUMK card will have easier access to empowerment programs from the government or other institutions, as well as protection for their businesses. Asippindo, along with its members spread across almost all regions of Indonesia, is ready to support this initiative.
"We are ready to provide guarantees for PUMK who have obtained the IUMK, issued by BRI at every sub-district office, to access credit disbursed by banks," he said.
