Jakarta | Minister of Industry (Menperin) Saleh Husin is pleased with the performance of Indonesia's small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Despite the economic downturn, the SME industry continues to grow.
Saleh cited the example of the micro-industry run by entrepreneurs in the Indonesian Women Entrepreneurs Association (Iwapi), which has grown by approximately 20 percent. This industry operates in the culinary and handicraft sub-sectors.
"We know that Iwapi has done a lot, from the central level to the regions, in developing the economic industry, especially for small and medium-sized industries. This is truly pursued by Iwapi's management members," said Saleh at Discovery Hotel, Ancol, North Jakarta, Wednesday (16/9/2015).
Saleh promised to continue providing facilitation, including training and assistance, as well as equipment support for entrepreneurs in Indonesia. This way, the growth of SMEs can be maintained.
"We, from the Ministry of Industry, always provide training and assistance, including providing equipment support such as machines or other tools to foster small and medium industries," he stated.
