"This time, Indonesia has the opportunity to host the 28th ACSIC conference. What makes it different is that this event also includes the International Guarantee Seminar (IGS).
JAKARTA – 2015 is a busy year for the Indonesian Credit Guarantee Companies Association (Asippindo). Two major events will be held: Indonesia has been selected as the host of the 28th Asian Credit Supplementation Institution Confederation (ACSIC) Conference and the International Guarantee Seminar (IGS). Both events will take place in Bali from November 16-19 in Nusa Dua, Bali.
The Chairman of ASIPPINDO, Diding S. Anwar, stated that Indonesia being entrusted to host the ACSIC and IGS conferences is an honor for the country. Through these events, he hopes that all participating countries in the international credit guarantee industry can share experiences and knowledge for the future development of the industry. "The issues discussed are very important for the guarantee industry to gain positive and constructive input," said Diding, who is also the President Director of Perum Jamkrindo, in Jakarta on Monday, November 9, 2015.
The Chairwoman of the ACSIC Conference Committee, Nina Kurnia Dewi, stated that Asippindo aims to add more value to the ACSIC event. One way to achieve this is by organizing the International Guarantee Seminar. This event will be inaugurated with an SME exhibition opening by the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs, AAGN Puspayoga.
The IGS will feature speakers from both domestic and international backgrounds. "In addition to the 16 members from 11 ACSIC countries, attendees of the IGS include Asippindo's partners such as banks, non-banking institutions, OJK, ministries, BPK, embassies, and foreign consulates in Indonesia," she said, mentioning that around 500 participants are expected to attend the IGS.
The IGS carries the theme 'The Challenge of Borderless SMEs in Developing Economies and the Role of Credit Guarantee Corporation.' "Asippindo hopes that participants will gain insights into the crucial role of the guarantee industry in supporting the development of the SME and cooperative sectors," said Diding S. Anwar.
The International Seminar, held on November 16, 2015, is open to the public free of charge. The event will be followed by a conference exclusive to ACSIC members from November 17-19, 2015, with the theme 'Measuring the Soundness and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) of Credit Guarantee Corporation.'
Launching of the Credit Guarantee Industry Book
To enhance the significance of the 28th IGS event, Asippindo Chairman Diding S. Anwar collaborated with LMFEB UI Chairman Toto Pranoto to launch the book ‘Credit Guarantee Industry: Envisioning a Prosperous Indonesia’.
This book provides a comprehensive overview of the credit guarantee industry in Indonesia, which has so far been known only within certain circles. It explains what the industry is, how it operates, and the extent of its role in the national economy. The book is expected to serve as a handbook for the credit guarantee industry.
In the foreword, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Indonesia highlights the importance of the credit guarantee industry in supporting SMEs and cooperatives in Indonesia, especially in overcoming their challenges in accessing credit.
The book launch, held on November 9, 2015, included a discussion on the guarantee industry featuring Firdaus Jaelani (OJK Commissioner), Arief Budimanta, and other industry stakeholders.
This 330-page book will be published in two languages and distributed to all participants of the IGS and the 28th ACSIC Conference. (team)"
