Jakarta | The Reyog Ponorogo Community (KRP), in collaboration with the Indonesian Credit Guarantee Public Corporation (Perum Jamkrindo), has provided chicken cutting equipment assistance to 40 chicken sellers in the capital city. This community-based poverty alleviation social assistance program was given to dozens of KRP members who work as chicken vendors in various traditional markets.
"A total of 40 chicken vendors from several traditional markets received equipment such as knives, machetes, cutting boards, knife sharpening crystals, and aprons. Hopefully, this assistance will be beneficial in carrying out their profession," said Suparno Nojeng, Vice Chairman of KRP, during the symbolic handover at Pulogadung Market, East Jakarta, on Thursday (14/1/2016).
The vendors who received the assistance are located in Pulogadung Market, Kramat Jati Market, Senen Market, Ancol Market, and Minggu Market. "In the next opportunity, we will also provide support in other locations," Nojeng added.
The Head of the Marine, Agriculture, and Food Security Department (KPKP) of Pulogadung, Kusniati Odilia, appreciated the initiative. The program also supports their campaign in selecting and handling chicken meat based on the principles of safety, health, wholeness, and halal (ASUH).
"Safe means it does not contain hazardous biological, chemical, or physical substances that could harm human health," said Kusniati, who attended the event.
Additionally, Kusniati reminded the vendors that the chicken meat being sold must be healthy and clean. "The chicken meat must also be whole, not reduced or mixed with other substances. Lastly, the slaughtering process must be carried out in a halal manner according to religious principles," she concluded. (various sources: pos kota.com/aktualita.co)
