JAKARTA | Perum Jamkrindo, together with PT Bank Mandiri Taspen Pos (Mantap), has entered into a cooperation agreement on pension credit guarantees and general credit guarantees. This collaboration is expected to benefit retirees and retail entrepreneurs in the country.

The memorandum of understanding for this cooperation agreement was signed by Perum Jamkrindo's Director of Guarantee Business, Bakti Prasetyo, and Bank Mantap's President Director, Nixon LP Napitupulu, in Jakarta on Friday (April 29, 2016).

On this occasion, Perum Jamkrindo's President Director, Diding S. Anwar, stated that he welcomed this cooperation agreement with the hope that it would be mutually beneficial.

He explained that Perum Jamkrindo is the only state-owned enterprise (BUMN) assigned to provide guarantees in accordance with the mandate of Law No. 1/2016 on Guarantees. The credit guarantees provided by Perum Jamkrindo have two schemes: direct and indirect guarantees for MSMEs and cooperatives that are feasible but not bankable.

"Indirect guarantees are provided through third-party facilities, such as KUR distribution by banks. Meanwhile, direct guarantees allow MSMEs to come to the guarantee provider to be facilitated with banking and non-bank financial institutions," he said.

He is optimistic that the guarantee business will continue to grow. Jamkrindo targets a credit guarantee volume of Rp 115 trillion in 2016, with Rp 65 trillion targeted from non-KUR guarantees and the remainder from KUR guarantees.

Currently, Perum Jamkrindo has 56 branch offices across Indonesia and has also established 10 Service Unit Offices (KUP) at the district/city level.

Bank Mantap's President Director, Nixon LP Napitupulu, stated that his company is new to the credit business. The cooperation with Perum Jamkrindo will significantly support the company's business in providing pension credit and general credit for retail entrepreneurs.

"Hopefully, this collaboration will benefit retirees and micro-entrepreneurs in Indonesia," he said.

He explained that Bank Mantap is a subsidiary of Bank Mandiri.

Its total assets amount to Rp 3.5 trillion, with a target of reaching Rp 5 trillion by the end of the year. Meanwhile, Bank Mantap's credit business has currently reached Rp 300 billion and is expected to reach Rp 1 trillion this year. (Public Relations)
