PALEMBANG | To optimize credit guarantees in various regions, the Indonesian Credit Guarantee Corporation (Perum Jamkrindo) has divided its operational areas into several sections. Previously, Palembang was only a branch office, but since May 2, it has become Regional Office II, overseeing five provinces in Southern Sumatra (Sumbagsel): South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung, Lampung, Bengkulu, and Jambi.

The Head of Regional Office II Jamkrindo, Aribowo, accompanied by the Head of the Palembang Branch, Haryanto, stated at the South Sumatra Expo 2016 on Wednesday (18/5) that previously, there were only three regional offices of Jamkrindo, but now there are nine regional offices, 56 branch offices, and 10 service units.

"This newly established operational area has only been active for two weeks. Just like Mr. Haryanto and me, we have only been in our positions as Regional Head and Branch Head for two weeks. Previously, I served as the Head of the Special Branch Office at Jamkrindo Jakarta, while Mr. Haryanto was the Head of Jamkrindo Ternate Branch," he said.

The establishment of Palembang as a regional office aims to maximize market coverage in this area. "Previously, all coordination had to go through Jakarta. With the establishment of this regional office, Jamkrindo can focus more, as Regional Office II will only handle these five provinces. As of April 2016, the realized volume of guaranteed credit in Sumbagsel has only reached IDR 2.8 trillion, while the target set is IDR 9 trillion." (SRIPOKU.COM)

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Credit Guarantee Corporation (Perum Jamkrindo) Palembang Branch Office (KC) participated in South Sumatra's largest exhibition and festival, the 5th "Sumsel Expo 2016," held at the Benteng Kuto Besak (BKB) Palembang from May 15-20. The event featured an exhibition of agribusiness food products and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises and Cooperatives (UMKMK).

Branch Head Heryanto Nugroho stated that the expo was important for raising public awareness about credit guarantees.

"In addition, Perum Jamkrindo also provides opportunities for its environmental development partners to participate in the event," he said.

According to him, as the only state-owned enterprise (BUMN) in the credit guarantee sector, Perum Jamkrindo has been entrusted by the government to support and guarantee credit distributed to UMKMK, which serves as the backbone of Indonesia’s economy.

In this regard, the government is currently accelerating the distribution of people's business credit (KUR), targeting absorption by UMKMK in Indonesia of IDR 100-120 trillion by the end of 2016. This KUR also includes the agribusiness and maritime sectors.
