PANGKAL PINANG | Perum Jamkrindo Pangkalpinang Branch Office, in collaboration with the Faculty of Economics of Bangka Belitung University, held the Jamkrindo Goes To Campus event called "Bangka Belitung Edupreneur Competition" with the theme "Together with the Faculty of Economics, Building an Intelligent & Great Generation Through Education & Entrepreneurship." In addition to Jamkrindo, this event was also supported by Bank Indonesia (BI), the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI), the Regional Government (PEMDA) of Bangka Regency, and Bangka Belitung University.
This activity is related to the readiness to face the Southeast Asian free market, also known as the ASEAN Economic Community (MEA), which means that both workers and products from Southeast Asian countries are free to enter Indonesia. For Bangka Belitung, MEA marks the beginning of efforts to improve the quality of both products and human resources. If the quality of products and human resources does not improve, we will become mere spectators in our own home.
The Bangka Belitung Edupreneur Competition itself was divided into three activities: Business Plan, Bazaar, and an Accounting Quiz Competition. The accounting competition was participated in by 16 groups from high school students and 10 groups from university students, consisting of schools and universities in Bangka Belitung.
Meanwhile, the business plan competition was attended by 16 groups of high school students and 18 groups of university students from schools and universities in Bangka Belitung. The bazaar featured 35 booths for new MSMEs in Bangka Belitung, mostly participated in by university students.
The Business Plan competition was held to support future business planning for university and high school students across the Bangka Belitung Islands province. The bazaar in this event was attended by new MSMEs from students and the general public who have new businesses and want to develop both their mindset and their business. Since the bazaar placed MSMEs in direct competition in one marketplace at the Faculty of Economics, Bangka Belitung University, the competition for market share was intense. Creativity and intelligence of MSMEs were trained in competing for market share.
Recognizing the importance of strengthening MSMEs and the workforce to face MEA, Jamkrindo Pangkalpinang Branch Office took part in this activity. At the same time, this marked the first collaboration between Jamkrindo Pangkalpinang Branch Office and the Faculty of Economics, Bangka Belitung University.
Dr. Reniati, S.E., M.M., as the Dean of the Faculty of Economics at Bangka Belitung University, welcomed this collaboration and expressed gratitude for Jamkrindo Pangkalpinang Branch Office’s concern and support for the event organized by the Faculty of Economics Student Executive Board (BEM). "MSMEs may be small businesses, but they play a crucial role in national economic growth and development. We know that during the monetary crisis, large companies collapsed, yet MSMEs managed to survive. Therefore, MSMEs need special attention—not only for economic development but also for resilience in facing MEA," said the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Bangka Belitung University. In addition to Jamkrindo, this event was also supported by Bank Indonesia (BI), the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI), the Regional Government (PEMDA) of Bangka Regency, and Bangka Belitung University.
