JAKARTA | Perum Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Jamkrindo) and the National Construction Executing Association (Gapensi) signed a cooperation agreement for the issuance of Surety Bonds and Counter Bank Guarantees for companies in the construction services sector.
The signing of this cooperation was carried out by Perum Jamkrindo President Director Diding S. Anwar and Gapensi Chairman Iskandar Z. Hartawi at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City, Tangerang – Banten, Wednesday (25/5/2016).
As a State-Owned Enterprise, Jamkrindo offers guarantee products for infrastructure development projects, such as counter bank guarantees and surety bonds, which can compete with other companies offering similar products.
Diding stated that the growth of the national construction and infrastructure industry has a positive impact on the guarantee industry. "This is clearly a great business opportunity, including for guarantee companies," he said.
Furthermore, Diding explained that construction and infrastructure credit projects are currently a key focus of Perum Jamkrindo's guarantee services. This aligns with the government's initiative to boost infrastructure development.
"Surety bonds can be an alternative option for Jamkrindo partners. With this product, partners can have certainty on when and how the project will be implemented. Through this guarantee product, contractors are expected to secure projects more quickly as they are considered to have risk mitigation in place," he said.
Jamkrindo targets credit guarantees to reach IDR 115 trillion in 2016. This is divided into IDR 50 trillion allocated for the People's Business Credit (KUR) program, while the remaining IDR 65 trillion is for non-KUR guarantees, the Warehouse Receipt System, as well as guarantees for construction credit, procurement of goods and services, surety bonds, and customs bonds. "To achieve this target, Jamkrindo will certainly participate in guaranteeing government infrastructure projects this year," Diding said.
At the same time, Jamkrindo is also participating in the Indobuildtech (Indonesia Building Material and Technology) exhibition, held from May 25-29, 2016. The Indobuildtech 2016 event is part of the series of activities for Gapensi’s National Working Meeting. The Indobuildtech exhibition is attended by both domestic and international companies, involving 19 countries and more than 550 participants. This exhibition is also expected to serve as a reference for professionals, architects, contractors, and consultants regarding the use of building materials. (Public Relations)
