May, Jamkrindo claim submissions tend to be flat

JAKARTA | Despite the rising trend of non-performing bank loans, PT Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Jamkrindo) recorded a flat trend in claim submissions until May.

Rusdonodbanu, Director of Investment and Finance at Jamkrindo, stated that in May, claim submissions remained flat. "As of May, our claims amounted to Rp 324.1 billion, lower than May last year, which was Rp 328.3 billion," he said on Sunday (May 19). The majority of claim expenses came from KUR at 74%, with the remaining 26% from Non-KUR.

According to Rusdonodbanu, there are two credit segments that can increase Jamkrindo’s claims: micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) loans and People's Business Credit (KUR).

One of the factors driving the increase in claims is that several banks that distributed KUR in 2014 are no longer designated as distributors. As a result, non-performing loans that could not be collected were claimed from Jamkrindo.

On the other hand, the non-performing loan rate for corporate and commercial loans has reportedly increased. This has led Jamkrindo’s claims this year to potentially reach Rp 1.25 trillion, a 36.3% increase from last year's Rp 917 billion.
