BRI is ready to disburse Micro KUR loans

BRI, as one of the six national banks (BRI, Mandiri, Mandiri Syariah, BTN, BNI, and Bukopin) designated by the government to disburse Micro KUR, has stated that it is ready to provide loans.

According to Eko Wahyu Andriastono, Regional Manager IX of BRI Banjarmasin, on Sunday (10/10/2010), the bank had been awaiting implementation guidelines and technical instructions related to this designation.

"We are now ready to disburse credit in accordance with addendum III, and we have already started to implement it. However, I have not yet received any reports regarding the amounts," he said.

As a result, debtors can now apply for loans from BRI with a maximum amount that has been raised from Rp5 million to Rp20 million at an interest rate of 20 percent.

"Of course, the loans remain unsecured despite the increase from Rp5 million to Rp20 million," he added.

The Micro KUR remains guaranteed by the government at 80 percent through Jamkrindo, with the remainder being borne by BRI. Meanwhile, BRI also disburses loans under the Retail KUR program, which offers a 14 percent interest rate and a tenure of three years for working capital as well as five years for investment.

"Certainly, as of early October 2010, we have already disbursed loans in accordance with the provisions of the new addendum III for KUR," he emphasized.
