PALU – Perum Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Jamkrindo) and PT (Persero) Bhanda Graha Reksa (BGR) implemented the Village Development Program as part of the "BUMN Hadir untuk Negeri" initiative organized by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) to commemorate the 71st Anniversary of Indonesia's Independence on August 17, 2016.
The Head of Perum Jamkrindo Palu Branch, Juanda Indarmawan, as the program coordinator, stated that in this village development program, they selected two villages: Oloboju Village for a red onion demonstration plot and Loru Village, both in Biromaru District, for a chili demonstration plot.
Village development in the form of training and assistance was conducted in Oloboju Village on Wednesday, August 24, and would be followed by a similar activity in Loru Village on August 31, 2016.
The training, dialogue, and aid distribution were attended by officials from Biromaru District, the Secretary of the Agricultural, Fisheries, and Forestry Extension Implementation Agency (BP4K) of Sigi Regency, the Coordinator of the Pest and Disease Observation Laboratory, the Head of the Agricultural, Fisheries, and Forestry Extension Agency (BP3K) of Sigi, and the Biromaru Military Sub-District Commander (Danramil).
A total of 50 members of the Maju Bersama Farmers Group from Oloboju Village attended the meeting and received one-day training from four technical experts.
According to Juanda, they selected two villages in Sigi Regency as fostered villages because Sigi is one of the regencies in Central Sulawesi with fertile agricultural land, making it highly suitable for the development of vegetables and fruits.
In addition to providing knowledge on intensive farming through experienced technical experts, Perum Jamkrindo also provided support for cultivation needs, such as fruit plant seedlings for home yards, including 50 mango trees, 50 durian trees, and 100 dragon fruit trees.
Previously, Perum Jamkrindo and PT BGR had also carried out various "BUMN Hadir untuk Negeri" programs in various locations in Central Sulawesi, including renovating veterans' houses, installing electricity, sanitation and clean water facilities, building childcare centers in markets, organizing affordable markets, screening films, hosting mass fun walks, facilitating student exchanges between Central Sulawesi and Riau Islands under the "Students Recognizing the Archipelago" program, assisting inmates nearing release, and conducting the August 17 flag ceremony.
These activities represent the tangible presence of state-owned enterprises in supporting the government’s development efforts while fostering patriotism and strengthening national character. (Source: Antaranews.com)
