JAKARTA | The Indonesian Credit Guarantee Public Corporation (Perum Jamkrindo) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with PT. POS Indonesia (Persero) on Wednesday (7/9/2016) at the Post Building, Central Jakarta.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the President Director of Perum Jamkrindo, Diding S. Anwar, and the President Director of PT. Pos Indonesia (Persero), Gilarsi W. Setijono.
Perum Jamkrindo and PT. Pos signed this Memorandum of Understanding as a form of state-owned enterprise (BUMN) synergy to leverage the potential of each party. "PT. Pos has an extensive office network, even in the most remote areas of Indonesia, so we are collaborating as fellow BUMNs to utilize the strengths of PT. Pos," said the President Director of Jamkrindo.
The implementation of the Warehouse Receipt System Guarantee by Perum Jamkrindo refers to Law No. 9 of 2011 on Amendments to Law No. 9 of 2006 concerning the Warehouse Receipt System, as well as Government Regulation No. 1 of 2016 regarding the Implementing Institution for the Warehouse Receipt System Guarantee, in which Perum Jamkrindo is designated as the Implementing Institution for the Warehouse Receipt System Guarantee.
Meanwhile, the President Director of Perum Jamkrindo emphasized that the partnership with PT. Pos Indonesia is considered strategic, aiming to support the smooth operation of both companies' businesses and enhance the performance of each party—both PT. Pos Indonesia as the warehouse owner and Perum Jamkrindo in increasing the volume of Warehouse Receipt System Guarantees.
It is hoped that through this collaboration, the benefits of the Warehouse Receipt System Guarantee can be directly felt by the public (especially farmers) and corporations in cases of failure, inability, and/or bankruptcy of warehouse managers in fulfilling their obligations.
Jamkrindo has also conducted benchmarking on SRG implementation in Bulgaria and carried out socialization efforts for farmers and business actors (in Medan, Parapat, and Palembang) as an initial step in the implementation of the Warehouse Receipt System.
The fourteen (14) commodities eligible for the Warehouse Receipt System Guarantee include rattan, unhusked rice, gambier, rice, tea, corn, rubber, seaweed, coffee, cocoa, tin, pepper, copra, and salt.
To improve service to its partners, Perum Jamkrindo has established a service network across Indonesia. To date, Jamkrindo has a total of 56 branch offices and 13 service unit offices. (Public Relations)
