Various inspiring adventure stories from the Siswa Mengenal Nusantara (SMN) program are compiled in a book titled Petualangan Mengenal Nusantara. The book launch, initiated by the Forum Humas BUMN, took place on the 21st floor of the Ministry of SOEs in Jakarta on Monday, March 20, 2016.
The launch event was attended by the Deputy for Business Infrastructure at the Ministry of SOEs, Hambra, along with several SOE directors, FH BUMN officials, and hundreds of SOE employees. On this occasion, Hambra presented the Petualangan Mengenal Nusantara book to the Director of Finance, Investment, and Risk Management of Perum Jamkrindo, I Rusdonobanu, as well as several other SOE directors who contributed to the book’s publication.
Hambra expressed hope that this book would preserve the inspiring stories from the Siswa Mengenal Nusantara program and ensure they continue to be read. "We want the Siswa Mengenal Nusantara program, initiated by Minister of SOEs Rini Soemarno, to inspire us all," he said.
Conducted as an inter-provincial student exchange program across Indonesia, Siswa Mengenal Nusantara not only encourages students to explore the country's remote areas and learn about its uniqueness but also introduces them to the professional and competitive business world.
This is reflected in visits to various SOEs operating in the nation's strategic sectors, broadening the students' perspectives on the future they will face.
The Siswa Mengenal Nusantara program has been running for two years. In 2015, it involved 33 provinces, while in 2016, all 34 provinces participated in this initiative, which embodies the spirit of BUMN Hadir untuk Negeri (SOEs for the Nation).
