Perum Jamkrindo Holds Charity Blood Donation Event

JAKARTA | To commemorate its 47th anniversary, Perum Jamkrindo held various social activities, one of which was a charity blood donation event as a form of concern and sharing with the community.

"This is a form of our concern for the community. This event has become a regular activity held every year in celebration of the company’s anniversary," said Perum Jamkrindo's President Director, Diding S Anwar, while observing the charity blood donation activity at the Perum Jamkrindo office in Jakarta, Wednesday (April 12).

Furthermore, Diding mentioned that the blood donation activity is part of the company's community development program. As of the end of March, Perum Jamkrindo has distributed more than IDR 874 million for its community development program.

"Last year, the distribution of community development funds reached over IDR 14 billion," Diding added.

The distribution of Perum Jamkrindo’s community development funds is directed to seven sectors as outlined in the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Regulation Number: PER-03/MBU/12/2016, dated December 16, 2016, regarding the Partnership and Community Development Program for State-Owned Enterprises.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the 47th Anniversary Committee and Head of Business Guarantee for Banks and SOEs, Wahju Widjaja, expressed satisfaction with the event, noting that more than 150 people participated in the blood donation to help those in need. “We are grateful for the success of this event, as we saw an increase in participants compared to last year. In addition to employees, members of the surrounding community also participated,” he said.

Unfortunately, not all of the blood donation volunteers could be accommodated by the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI). Some employees who had signed up were turned away due to PMI's requirements. The requirements for donating blood include being in good physical health, not being sick, having normal blood pressure and hemoglobin (HB) levels, a minimum weight of 45 kg, and being at least 17 years old.

Wahyu further added that this event is part of the series of activities to celebrate Perum Jamkrindo’s 47th anniversary. The anniversary will fall on July 1, 2017, with the peak event being held on July 15, 2017, in the form of a Family Gathering for Perum Jamkrindo employees.

In addition to the blood donation, there were several other social activities related to this anniversary. These include community development assistance by providing free food packages for underprivileged residents near the company. Other activities included sports competitions, a family gathering involving employees, branches, and retired employees, as well as a writing and photo journalism competition for the media.
