Perum Jamkrindo facilitated two Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to participate in the largest craft exhibition in Indonesia, Inacraft 2017. This annual event was held again at the JCC Senayan in Jakarta for five days starting from Wednesday, April 26.
The two MSME partners of Perum Jamkrindo's PKBL program who were facilitated to join Inacraft 2017 are Gitar Media from Solo and D'Lava from West Nusa Tenggara. Gitar Media produces musical instruments such as guitars, while D'Lava sells woven fabrics from across Indonesia.
Sarwedi and Yohanes Suprianto, artisans and owners of Gitar Media, expressed their excitement at having the opportunity to showcase their craftsmanship at Inacraft 2017. "Without the help of Perum Jamkrindo, we wouldn't have been able to have a booth at Inacraft, which is an international-class exhibition," said Suprianto.
He explained that participating in the Inacraft exhibition, which was officially opened by President Joko Widodo, opened up opportunities to gain more customers. Thousands of people from both domestic and international locations shop every day at this exhibition. If customers like the products, orders can keep coming in.
"At this exhibition, we can attract new customers from all over Indonesia, even from abroad," Suprianto said. He shared that Gitar Media started in 2010. The products made are not only guitars, but also ukuleles, drum boxes, and keroncong musical instruments.
In 2012, this MSME received a capital injection from Perum Jamkrindo of Rp50 million. Gitar Media's business then grew, with orders coming in from various regions in Indonesia. Even in 2014, a customer from France ordered 30 ukuleles.
"We successfully met the target of making 30 ukuleles in two months, and they were sent to France," said Sarwedi. Because the French customer was satisfied, they placed another order for 30 ukuleles, which is currently being worked on.
Sarwedi is pleased to be a partner of Perum Jamkrindo's PKBL program. Not only did they receive capital, but they were also given access to national and international markets by being included in the Inacraft 2017 exhibition.
A similar sentiment was shared by Lala, the owner of D'Lava. She was very enthusiastic when offered by Perum Jamkrindo to join the Inacraft 2017 exhibition. At the exhibition, she was able to attract many new customers for the woven fabrics she sells.
