Perum Jamkrindo, through the MSME Rating & Management Consulting Division, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with the Faculty of Economics, Pancasila University, regarding the data collection and updating of MSME databases.
The signing ceremony took place at the Perum Jamkrindo Head Office, Kemayoran, Jakarta, on Thursday, April 26, 2017, and was represented by the Director of Perum Jamkrindo, Diding S. Anwar, and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Pancasila University, Sri Widiastuti.
In conjunction with this, a Training & Business Matching event for Fashion MSMEs was also held, a concept initiated by Jamkrindo to bring together Guaranteed MSMEs/Prospective Guaranteed MSMEs in the fashion sector with designers from the Indonesia Fashion Chamber (IFC).
This meeting of fashion sector MSMEs also served as a form of support for the research being conducted by Pancasila University lecturers. During the event, MSMEs were asked to bring examples of fashion products (such as garments, designs, etc.) to be evaluated by experts in attendance and receive guidance.
Through this event, it is expected that all players in the fashion subsector will have adequate skills, so that the potential and capabilities of fashion in Indonesia can be explored and utilized effectively, generating significant economic value.
Additionally, a Panel Discussion was held with speakers from the MSME sector regarding strategies to improve MSME competitiveness, featuring participants and speakers such as Achsanul Qosasi (Chairman III of BPK RI), Dr. Muhammad Rizal, SH, MH (Postgraduate Lecturer of Business Administration at Unpad), Dr. Margo Purnomo (Founder of Yayasan Rumah Kewirausahaan & Personal Development), Ferry Susanto (National Advisory Board of Indonesian Fashion Chamber), Erwin Permana (Entrepreneurship & Business Consultant), Gatot Hendro Prakosa (Binus Entrepreneurship Center), and Derriawan (Head of Postgraduate Program in MM UP).
Perum Jamkrindo's CEO, Diding S. Anwar, stated that the era of globalization, marked by increased free trade between countries, requires MSMEs to continuously improve their competitiveness. If not, they will be left behind.
"Jamkrindo now not only guarantees MSME credit but also provides assistance to MSMEs. We want them to have good management, well-organized financial records, and wide access to markets," said Diding.
He gave an example that even if an MSME has great fashion products, they might not know how to market them, and their financial records might be disorganized. "That’s why we are collaborating with Pancasila University to conduct data collection and provide support to MSMEs so that they can be competitive," he added.
Achsanul Qosasi (Chairman III of BPK RI) shared that when he worked at a bank, he often visited Perum Jamkrindo’s office in Kemayoran, Jakarta. Back then, it was still known as Perum PKK. According to him, Jamkrindo deserves to be called a teacher for MSMEs because, since its inception, it has consistently supported MSMEs.
The Dean of the Faculty of Economics at Pancasila University, Sri Widiastuti, expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with Perum Jamkrindo to help develop MSMEs. She believes that with its enormous potential, MSMEs can be a key pillar of the national economy. However, the assistance for MSMEs needs to be intensified so that they can become more competitive.
