70th National Cooperative Day (HARKOPNAS) Commemoration
MAKASSAR – Perum Jamkrindo, the only State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) operating in the credit guarantee sector, supports the advancement of cooperatives by committing to provide credit guarantees and management consulting services to Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises, and Cooperatives (UMKMK), thereby contributing to the national economy.
At the 70th National Cooperative Day (HARKOPNAS) event organized by the Indonesian Cooperative Council (DEKOPIN) in Makassar, Diding S. Anwar, the President Director of Perum Jamkrindo, highlighted that cooperatives play a significant role and have substantial economic potential. However, due to their underdevelopment, they remain behind in comparison to other sectors in the national economy. "Therefore, various efforts need to be made to develop the cooperative and SME sectors," said Diding in Makassar.
The event was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo and attended by Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (Kemenkop UKM), AAGN Puspayoga, as well as Bakti Prasetyo, Director of Business Guarantee at Perum Jamkrindo, alongside leaders from financial institutions and banks.
Diding explained that Perum Jamkrindo’s role is to provide credit guarantees for UMKMK, allowing them to access funding from the government through Indonesian banks.
Established on July 1, 1970, and celebrating 47 years of operation, Perum Jamkrindo has grown significantly and now serves throughout Indonesia with 9 regional offices, 56 branch offices, and 14 service units. This growth demonstrates the company's strong commitment to supporting UMKMK across the country. Perum Jamkrindo’s task is to provide guarantees against financial risks faced by UMKMK entrepreneurs.
Perum Jamkrindo offers a variety of credit guarantee products, including: Credit Guarantees for People’s Business (KUR), Surety Bond Guarantees, Bank Guarantee Guarantees, Micro Credit Guarantees, Multi-purpose Credit Guarantees, Subsidized Housing Credit Guarantees (FLPP), Non-Subsidized Housing Credit Guarantees, Motor Vehicle Credit Guarantees, Marine and Fisheries Credit Guarantees, Productive Credit Guarantees, Warehouse Receipt System Guarantees.
Additionally, Perum Jamkrindo is developing a guarantee product for credit distributed through Financial Technology (Fintech).
One example of Perum Jamkrindo's innovation and commitment to serving UMKMK is the creation of the Mobile Guarantee Service (MLP). This mobile service, with a focus on reliable IT systems, is designed to reach UMKMK entrepreneurs throughout Indonesia and provide more optimal and efficient services to all of Perum Jamkrindo’s business partners.
As of June 30, 2017, Perum Jamkrindo had guaranteed KUR (People’s Business Credit) distributed by financial institutions amounting to IDR 24.61 trillion, which constitutes 54.54% of the total national KUR distribution of IDR 45.13 trillion.
Furthermore, Diding shared that Perum Jamkrindo, along with PT Penjamin Kredit Pengusaha Indonesia, Jamkrida Jatim, and Jamkrida Bali Mandara, has initiated the formation of ASIPPINDO (Indonesian Guarantee Companies Association) as an alternative to credit guarantees in Indonesia, contributing to the national economic advancement.
During the 70th HARKOPNAS event, Perum Jamkrindo also showcased an exhibition of its partner cooperatives and handed over credit guarantee certificates to members of the Koperasi Simpan Pinjam (Kospin) Jasa, which is the only cooperative authorized to distribute People’s Business Credit (KUR).
