CEO of Perum Jamkrindo Urges SOEs to Increase Their Contribution to Society

PANGKAL PINANG - In Commemoration of Indonesia's 72nd Independence Day, Perum Jamkrindo's President Director Diding S. Anwar, along with the board of directors, led the flag-raising ceremony alongside representatives from State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) located in the Bangka Belitung Islands.

The ceremony was held at the PT Timah Pemali Training Center in Bangka Regency, on Thursday (17/8/2017), and was attended by hundreds of employees from SOEs operating in the Bangka Belitung Islands.

Present at the ceremony were Chairiah, the Deputy Assistant for BUMN Restructuring and the Utilization of Minority State Ownership Portfolios at the Ministry of SOEs, I. Rusdonobanu, the Director of Finance, Investment, and Risk Management, Sufrin Hannan, the Commercial Director II of PT Sucofindo, and Muhammad Rizky, the Director of HR and General Affairs at PT Timah.

Representatives from all SOEs in Bangka Belitung were also present, including PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia, PT Bank Negara Indonesia, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, PT Pertamina, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II, PT Jasa Raharja, PT Bank Mandiri, PT Angkasa Pura II, PT Taspen, PT Bank Tabungan Negara, PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry, PT Pegadaian, PT Pos Indonesia, PT Surveyor Indonesia, PT Asuransi Jiwasraya, Perum Damri, PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara, PT Garuda Indonesia, Perum Antara, Perum Bulog, PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia, PT Asuransi Kredit Indonesia, PT Pelayaran Nasional, PT Rajawali Nusantara, PT BGR, and PT Airnav.

In his speech, Diding emphasized that the theme of the 72nd Independence Day, “72 Years of Indonesia Working Together,” reflects the spirit and call for all Indonesians to embrace unity and prioritize collaboration.

"Through this slogan, we are reminded to unite in our diversity and continue striving to become an honorable nation, the nation of Indonesia," he said.

He noted that in the face of global competition, SOEs can no longer work in isolation. Individual efforts, no matter how maximized, will only lead to incremental improvements, which are not sufficient to compete in the global business landscape. "Synergy and collaboration among business entities, especially SOEs, is essential to drive significant growth for the SOEs," Diding explained.

Furthermore, he mentioned that the celebration of Indonesia's 72nd Independence Day should serve as a milestone for SOEs to contribute optimally to society. SOEs must directly engage with the community. Therefore, since a few years ago, the Ministry of SOEs has initiated the “BUMN Hadir untuk Negeri” program, which is held simultaneously across 34 provinces, signaling that SOEs can collaborate to build the nation.

Perum Jamkrindo, he stated, actively supports this program by participating in activities across the Bangka Belitung Islands. This year, Perum Jamkrindo took an active role as the coordinator for the BUMN Hadir untuk Negeri program in the province.

In previous activities, Perum Jamkrindo, along with PT Sucofindo, carried out the Siswa Mengenal Nusantara (Students Know the Archipelago) program, a veterans' house renovation, and a healthy walk event as part of their commitment to being present in the community, as mandated by the Ministry of SOEs.

"As one of the SOEs, Perum Jamkrindo will continue to focus on its core mission to empower Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through credit guarantees, which directly support the development of the national economy, including the government's new KUR (People’s Business Credit) program," he emphasized.

Regarding performance, Diding reported that as of July 31, 2017, the company’s assets amounted to IDR 14.26 trillion, representing a 6.37% increase from December 2016’s total of IDR 13.41 trillion, with equity capital reaching IDR 10.66 trillion, a 3.52% increase from the previous year.

With total revenue of IDR 1.16 trillion and total expenses of IDR 736.33 billion, the company’s pre-tax profit from January to July 2017 reached IDR 424.52 billion, or 42.73% of the target pre-tax profit of IDR 993.4 billion.

As of July 2017, the total credit guarantee amounted to IDR 82.52 trillion, consisting of non-KUR credit guarantees of IDR 53.62 trillion and KUR credit guarantees of IDR 28.89 trillion. Perum Jamkrindo also achieved a pre-tax profit (EBT) of IDR 424.52 billion for the period, or 42.7% of the 2017 target.

Several activities were held in the Bangka Belitung Islands as part of the BUMN Hadir untuk Negeri program in 2017, including the Siswa Mengenal Nusantara program, a 5-kilometer walk, veterans' house renovation, and the highlight, the flag-raising ceremony commemorating Indonesia's 72nd Independence Day.

The main objective of these activities, Diding concluded, was to instill a sense of pride in Indonesia's diverse culture and demonstrate the role of SOEs in the community, building an understanding of the Ministry of SOEs' role as a development agent.

Additionally, to support the government program, the BBM 1 Harga book was handed over by Chairiah, the Deputy Assistant for BUMN Restructuring, to Fery Insani, the Secretary of Bangka Regency. There was also a symbolic handover of the Bedah Rumah Veteran (Veteran House Renovation) assistance by Diding S. Anwar to Sarjono, a representative of Indonesia’s veterans. Furthermore, Sertifikat SMN (SMN Certificate) was handed over by Sufrin Hannan to Deden Fatahillah, a representative of SMN students from SMKN 1 Pangkalan Baru.
