The Disbursement of KUR in Wonogiri is Running Smoothly

The government has launched the People’s Business Credit (KUR) program to assist micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with capital needs, combat poverty, expand employment opportunities, and serve as a catalyst for improving public welfare. The implementation of the KUR program in Wonogiri Regency has been running successfully, providing a breakthrough in improving financing access for MSMEs.

This was revealed by Wonogiri Regent, H. Danar Rahmanto, during a visit from the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, represented by Erlangga Mantik, Deputy for Macro Economy and Economic Coordination, in Wonogiri on Friday (4/2).

The Regent stated that KUR, with its credit guarantee scheme, serves as an effective solution for the development of MSMEs in Wonogiri. Most local businesses and cooperatives in the region have limited access to government credit due to collateral constraints.

"**As an illustration, as of December 2010, the realization of KUR disbursement by Bank Jateng reached Rp269.4 billion, or 107.76% of the government’s target of Rp250 billion. Meanwhile, Bank Jateng Wonogiri branch has disbursed Rp10.7 billion to 171 debtors," the Regent explained.

The Regent further emphasized that the potential for KUR growth in Wonogiri remains significant, as the program is also being disbursed through several national and private banks, namely BNI, Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), and Bank Mandiri.

During the event, the Regent symbolically handed over KUR funding to MSME beneficiaries, witnessed by Erlangga Mantik. The recipients were customers from four banks in Wonogiri, namely:

  • Bank Jateng: Rp540 million for 8 debtors
  • BNI: Rp2 billion for 30 debtors
  • BRI: Rp15 million for 3 debtors
  • Bank Mandiri: Rp1 billion for 41 debtors

The KUR disbursement amounts varied, ranging from Rp40 million to Rp160 billion.
