Bangka - Head of Jamkrindo Pangkalpinang Branch, Ahmad Andika, stated that the non-performing loans (NPL) in Bangka Belitung are still within a reasonable range, following the increasing number of debtors.
Jamkrindo, as the government-appointed guarantee institution, collaborates with banks to distribute Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR), a program aimed at helping micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (UMKM) gain access to financing.
"The purpose of this KUR socialization is to increase the knowledge of business owners, especially in Bangka Belitung, so they can quickly access capital. Currently, the level of non-performing loans is still within a reasonable limit because the bank implementing KUR always follows the principles of prudence," said Ahmad Andika to Bangka Pos after a KUR socialization event on Tuesday, October 17.
So far, BRI has been the most active bank in distributing KUR, as it has numerous branches spread across every subdistrict in the region. The presence of these units in Bangka Belitung makes it easier for the public to access the program.
The most popular type of KUR is the micro KUR, with a maximum loan value of IDR 25 million, followed by retail KUR, which ranges from IDR 25 million to IDR 500 million.
"I encourage UMKM business owners in Bangka Belitung to make the most of KUR according to the conditions set by the government. This program can help improve the economy of the region," he concluded. (Source: Bangkapos)
