The Central Management Board of the Indonesian Entrepreneurs Association (BPP HIPKA), in collaboration with Perum Jamkrindo, organized a quail farming training for the general public and quail farmers across Indonesia.

This training is expected to create new entrepreneurs in the agribusiness sector, specifically in quail farming, to advance the entrepreneurial world in Indonesia, particularly in facing future challenges.

The training took place from April 20-22, 2018, at Pondok Wirausaha Dewin Assalam, located at Jl. Pelabuhan II KM. 20, Desa Cikembar, Kec. Cikembar, Sukabumi, West Java. A total of 30 participants attended the training, including representatives from Perum Jamkrindo, HIPKA, MAPORINA, FORHATI, PB HMI, and OK OC.

The training featured Dr. Slamet Wuryadi, SP., MP., the owner of CV. Slamet Quail Farm, who is also the Chairman of the Indonesian Quail Farmers Association and author of the book Sukses Beternak Puyuh (Successful Quail Farming). Several representatives from Perum Jamkrindo also attended the event.

Subandriyo, the Vice Chairman of BPP HIPKA, stated that this quail farming training is part of HIPKA's ongoing efforts to create new SME entrepreneurs in the food sector, contributing to the government's program of generating new job opportunities.

"In the future, HIPKA plans to conduct further training sessions for businesses whose products can be directly absorbed by the market, such as this quail farming training. Among the identified future training plans are farming eel and growing dragon fruit for export markets, as well as barista training to support the growing cafe culture in urban areas," Subandriyo said.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Committee, Laca Muhammad, expressed appreciation for Perum Jamkrindo’s support as an SME guarantor in empowering communities and encouraging the growth of SMEs, especially in the quail farming sector.

"The potential for quail egg businesses is huge. The market demand is still very high and only partially met. For the JABODETABEK area (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi), the demand for quail eggs reaches 11 million eggs per week, but only 3.6 million eggs are supplied," said Laca.

With this training, the goal is to strengthen relationships with quail farmers across Indonesia, provide information on quail farming business opportunities for retirees, young entrepreneurs, and students, and collaborate to create healthy, superior, independent, and dignified business players.
