After the 2018 mudik season ended, all the organizing parties involved in the mudik program received awards as a form of appreciation. One of the recipients was Perum Jamkrindo, which successfully sent off 1,300 travelers safely and comfortably to their destinations.
The Director of Finance, Investment, and Risk Management of Perum Jamkrindo, I. Rusdonobanu, received the award at the 2018 Lebaran Transportation Appreciation Night. The event was held by the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) at the Panca Gatra Building, the National Resilience Institute of Indonesia, in Central Jakarta, on Friday, July 6, 2018.
In his speech, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi expressed gratitude to all parties involved in the smooth running of the Lebaran mudik this year.
"I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to all those involved directly or indirectly in the organization and implementation of the Integrated Lebaran Transportation 2018/1439H, especially those who contributed to the National Integrated Lebaran Transportation Posts," he said.
During the event, nine parties received a Certificate of Appreciation. The nine awardees included ministries/agencies, operators, provincial and police transportation departments, state-owned enterprises (SOEs), central posts, media, free mudik partners, local governments, and communities.
At the appreciation night, Budi also noted that the Integrated National Lebaran Transportation Coordination Post and the Free Mudik Program in 2018/1439H were organized safely, smoothly, and successfully.
"The organization of Lebaran Transportation and the National Integrated Lebaran Transportation Posts in 2018 was generally carried out excellently. Coordination and joint efforts with all government agencies and related stakeholders were optimally done. I express my deepest thanks and appreciation to all involved in this activity, who worked tirelessly for 18 days, 24 hours a day," said Budi.
He also expressed appreciation to the field officers who helped ensure the smooth flow of the mudik. Thanks to their hard work, the number of accidents during the 2018 Lebaran mudik decreased overall. Additionally, the number of free mudik services provided by both government and private entities increased.
"The free mudik program organized by the Ministry of Transportation, SOEs, and private companies saw a total increase compared to 2017. The free motorcycle mudik increased by 42.74%, from 29,065 motorcycles to 41,468 motorcycles, and the free passenger mudik rose by 63.25%, from 171,606 people to 280,141 people," he explained, prompting applause from the audience.
Budi also presented a compensation package to the heirs of two toll workers who died while on duty during the mudik. The two workers were Famhi Hasyim and Uus Rustiyana. The compensation was handed over in cooperation with Jasa Raharja, which had also provided compensation to the victims' families.
On the same occasion, he expressed his condolences to the victims of the KM Sinar Bangun ferry that sank in Lake Toba recently. He also appreciated Basarnas for their efforts in the search and rescue operations for the victims of the KM Sinar Bangun accident.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Land Transportation, Budi Setiyadi, mentioned that preparations for the 2018/1439H Lebaran Transportation had been carried out since early 2018 and had gone through various stages.
"The preparation for the 2018/1439H Lebaran Transportation series of activities began in January 2018, starting with various stages involving different parties, such as coordination meetings, sectoral coordination meetings with the Ministry of Transportation, field visits, North Coast road surveys, coordination meetings with SOEs, ministerial coordination meetings, National Police, and 15 governors, ramp checks, free mudik programs, and the closure of the Lebaran Transportation posts," he explained.
At the same event, awards were also given to the winners of the "Cerita Mudik Guyub Rukun" photography contest organized by the Ministry of Transportation.
"The Directorate General of Land Transportation also held a contest for the best video reportage during the 2018/1439H Lebaran Transportation. Awards were presented to the field officers of the Lebaran Transportation Coordination Posts in several categories, including Best Live Video, Best Non-Live Video, and Most Unique Video," he added.
He also expressed his gratitude to Bank Negara Indonesia as the main sponsor and PT Jasa Raharja as a supporting sponsor for their contributions to the smooth running of the Lebaran Transportation Appreciation Night.
