As a form of solidarity, Perum Jamkrindo quickly moved to deliver logistical aid to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Donggala and Palu, Central Sulawesi. To date, Perum Jamkrindo has sent aid twice in a row through Pelindo IV, one of the state-owned enterprise (BUMN) coordinators, on September 30 and October 1, 2018.
The logistics sent include essential items, such as basic foodstuffs, bottled water, biscuits, and clothing needs like blankets, sarongs, sanitary napkins, and baby diapers. As one of the BUMN coordinators, Pelindo IV has collected various aids, including from Perum Jamkrindo, and has sent out two consecutive shipments.
Perum Jamkrindo’s President Director, Randi Anto, stated that the assistance was provided through Pelindo IV as one of the BUMN coordinators. He hopes that the aid will be directly beneficial for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Donggala and Palu, Central Sulawesi. “We deeply mourn the heavy losses suffered by the people of Sulawesi due to this tragic disaster, both for those who lost family, relatives, and friends, as well as material possessions,” said Randi Anto.
In addition to the effort to send aid to the general public, the employees of Perum Jamkrindo also initiated a fundraising campaign. This initiative was purely aimed at helping employees and the general public who wanted to make donations to support the people of Donggala and Palu affected by the disaster. “Such initiatives are certainly supported to foster solidarity among our staff,” he added.
It is also worth noting that some Perum Jamkrindo employees were also victims of the earthquake and tsunami. Several employees' homes were severely damaged, but fortunately, all employees are in good condition.
