Perum Jamkrindo Continues to Send Aid to Palu

The earthquake and tsunami disaster that struck Donggala and Palu in Central Sulawesi on Friday (28/9/2018) has deeply saddened the people of Indonesia and the world. To alleviate the suffering of the victims, various segments of society united to gather and send various forms of aid, both physical and logistical, to Donggala and Palu in Central Sulawesi. One of the efforts was made by the State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) credit guarantee company, Perum Jamkrindo, which sent aid over four consecutive days, from September 30 to October 3, 2018.

Perum Jamkrindo's President Director, Randi Anto, stated that the devastating impact of this disaster resulted in many lives lost, severe injuries, and widespread displacement. Furthermore, most of the basic infrastructure was heavily damaged, along with the homes of the victims, which were reduced to rubble. Perum Jamkrindo acted swiftly to send various forms of aid over the last four days.

"The logistical aid we sent over the past four days is a reflection of our concern for the victims of the natural disaster in Donggala and Palu. Perum Jamkrindo quickly sent logistical assistance because it was urgent and necessary for the people of Donggala and Palu," said Randi Anto in a written statement in Jakarta on Wednesday, October 4, 2018.

According to Randi Anto, the aid from Perum Jamkrindo was sent through several state-owned enterprises (BUMNs) that were designated as the coordinators of the disaster relief efforts for Palu and Donggala. Perum Jamkrindo has sent aid through PT Pelindo IV (Persero) and PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, as BUMN coordinators for the "BUMN Hadir untuk Palu dan Donggala" movement.

"In the past four days, we have continued to send logistical aid there. We hope that the assistance will be beneficial in lightening the burden of the disaster victims," said Randi Anto in the statement.

In addition to sending logistical aid, Perum Jamkrindo, according to Randi Anto, also worked in synergy with other BUMNs, including conducting fundraising activities by all personnel of Perum Jamkrindo. This activity is part of the spirit of solidarity and togetherness.

"Certainly, initiatives like these are greatly supported to foster solidarity among employees," he added.

Randi Anto further explained that Perum Jamkrindo, in parallel, also sent direct assistance to its personnel in Palu who were affected by the disaster. Personnel from Perum Jamkrindo's nearby branches, such as Makassar, Gorontalo, Mamuju, Palopo, and Balikpapan, worked together to send logistical aid to Palu. They worked to find the best solutions to ensure that the aid sent would be effectively received by affected employees and local communities around the Palu branch.

"We highly appreciate the teamwork that has been built by all personnel of Perum Jamkrindo," said Randi.
