Perum Jamkrindo recognizes the significant role that Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) play in Indonesia's economy, contributing greatly to growth and reducing unemployment rates. However, UMKM face challenges in expanding and growing, especially concerning their capital structure, which is crucial for business expansion.
As a solution, Perum Jamkrindo has been supporting UMKM’s business acceleration, particularly by providing credit guarantees. Perum Jamkrindo acts as a bridge for UMKM that have feasible businesses but do not meet the technical banking requirements for accessing financial support. Through credit guarantee schemes, Jamkrindo eases the process for UMKM to obtain financing from banks or non-bank financial institutions, especially those hindered by collateral issues.
Randi Anto, the President Director of Perum Jamkrindo, emphasized the company's commitment to helping UMKM scale up and grow. Jamkrindo has been a pivotal enabler for UMKM in Indonesia for over a decade, providing support to more than 21 million UMKM under the Credit for People's Business (KUR) program.
By continually increasing its credit guarantee capacity and the number of UMKM it supports, Perum Jamkrindo is determined to ensure more businesses benefit from the financial backing they need to grow. As of September 2018, Jamkrindo’s total guarantee volume reached IDR 126 trillion, with 80% of this from non-KUR guarantees.
Furthermore, Jamkrindo offers various credit guarantee products, including for microcredit, general loans, multiguna loans, supply chain financing, and even fintech lending. These products cater to diverse business needs, thus making it easier for UMKM to access financing.
In addition to enhancing financial access, Perum Jamkrindo is also focusing on strengthening its Human Resources (HR) to ensure it remains a leading force in the credit guarantee sector. The company aims to stay at the forefront of innovation in business operations, infrastructure, and risk management while nurturing relationships with UMKM across Indonesia.
Sulis Usdoko, the Director of Human Resources, General Affairs, and Compliance, explained that Jamkrindo will continue to strengthen its HR capabilities, focusing on expertise in guarantee products, risk management, and UMKM database management.
In summary, Perum Jamkrindo is committed to helping UMKM expand and thrive by addressing their financial and operational challenges, ensuring they have the support and resources necessary for growth.
