Perum Jamkrindo has distributed assistance for the construction of a communal livestock pen for cattle farming in support of the BUMN Hadir Untuk Negeri (SOEs Present for the Nation) program in Central Java. This initiative is part of the company’s Community Development (PKBL) program aimed at supporting the government’s Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR) for integrated livestock farming clusters.
Amin Mas’udi, the Director of Business Guarantee at Perum Jamkrindo, stated that this community assistance reflects Perum Jamkrindo’s environmental development program to assist the government in its efforts to support KUR. The assistance, which includes the improvement of communal livestock pens in Wonogiri, Central Java, is a demonstration of Perum Jamkrindo’s commitment to society. “This program is a form of Perum Jamkrindo's care for the community and supports the government’s program, BUMN Hadir Untuk Negeri,” Amin explained.
The communal livestock pen assistance provided by Perum Jamkrindo is valued at IDR 260 million and was handed over to two farmer groups from the Pengayom Tani Sejagat Farmer’s Business Group (BUMP) in Kedungombo Village, Wonogiri, as well as the Indonesian National BUMN Training Center (Seknas BUMN).
Amin highlighted that the delivery of this aid exemplifies the BUMN Hadir Untuk Negeri initiative, ensuring that the presence of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) is felt by the community. "The PKBL program we conduct is a tangible form of the SOEs’ role for the people and our role as a development agent to help improve the living standards of the community and the surrounding environment," Amin added.
Through its partnership program, Perum Jamkrindo has provided business capital loans and mentoring to SMEs across Indonesia. As of the third quarter of 2018, Perum Jamkrindo has partnered with 1,748 SMEs in various sectors. In addition to providing loans, Perum Jamkrindo also assists businesses by facilitating their participation in exhibitions, both nationally and internationally, to help them expand their markets.
As the only state-owned enterprise (SOE) in the field of credit guarantee, Perum Jamkrindo supports the development of the national economy by guaranteeing SME loans. The company bridges the gap for viable SMEs that do not meet the technical banking requirements, particularly the collateral requirements, enabling these businesses to access financial services.
Each year, Perum Jamkrindo sees an increase in its guarantee volume. By the third quarter of 2018, the total guarantee volume reached IDR 126 trillion. The largest share of this was non-KUR guarantees, amounting to IDR 85.18 trillion, with the remaining IDR 41.30 trillion coming from KUR guarantees. “We hope to continue being the first choice for business players in guarantee services,” Amin concluded.
Perum Jamkrindo is committed to strengthening its strategic role in the national economy by improving its database for SMEs. Since 2016, the company has been conducting ratings and providing support to SMEs. This rating process aims to reduce information asymmetry between SMEs and lenders (banks and non-banks), ultimately reducing the costs of acquiring debtors. "Not only credit guarantees, but we continuously innovate to provide the best services for SMEs,” Amin said.
Jamkrindo also continues to improve its performance through various strategic initiatives and is committed to expanding the guarantee market by establishing new partnerships with both banks and non-banks. The issuance of Government Regulation (PP) Number 35 of 2018 regarding the role of Perusahaan Umum Jaminan Kredit Indonesia has opened opportunities for Perum Jamkrindo to provide broader guarantees. "This regulation offers opportunities for Jamkrindo to tap into markets beyond SMEs, through SOE synergies," Amin added.
