The Indonesian Guarantee Companies Association (Asippindo) has contributed to accelerating the recovery process in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, following the earthquake, by providing assistance amounting to IDR 407.5 million. The aid, which was delivered to the Yayasan Nurul Irsyad Nahdlatul Wathan Pesantek Batukliang Utara, was collected by Asippindo from several institutions. The aid delivery followed an earlier survey conducted by Asippindo to the location shortly after the earthquake struck Lombok.
The aid was handed over by Asippindo's Deputy Secretary-General, who is also the Director of Guarantee Business at Perum Jamkrindo, Amin Mas'udi, to the Chairman of the Yayasan Nurul Pesantek, H Abdul Hayyi, HQ, on Sunday, January 27, 2019. The funds were collected from the Ikatan Alumni Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Diponegoro (Ikafe Undip), Paguyuban Masyarakat Semarang, Persatuan Istri Karyawan dan Karyawati (PIKA) Perum Jamkrindo, Koperasi Keluarga Jamkrindo Sejahtera (Kowajasa), Masjid Al-Muhajirin Perum Jamkrindo, and PT Jamkrindo Tama.
Amin explained that the rehabilitation process due to disasters in Indonesia, including the one in Lombok, could not be fully left to the government. “Both state-owned and private enterprises must be involved in the acceleration of recovery together with other institutions. This is our form of care for the recovery efforts in Lombok,” said Amin.
The assistance was a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Asippindo and the Yayasan Nurul Irsyad Nahdlatul Wathan Pesantek, signed by Asippindo Chairman and CEO of Perum Jamkrindo, Randi Anto, and the Chairman of Yayasan Nurul Irsyad Nahdlatul Wathan Pesantek, H Abdul Hayyi, HQ, on December 17, 2018. The aid covered the rehabilitation of the Kindergarten, renovation of Masjid Nurul Irsyad, construction of a wudu area, bathrooms, toilets, rehabilitation of the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, and the construction of a new classroom for Madrasah Tsanawiyah.
Separately, Asippindo Chairman Randi Anto stated that the provision of this aid was an initiative from various organizations and institutions that felt compelled to provide support to the earthquake victims in Lombok. Randi also appreciated the donations collected by Ikafe Undip and Paguyuban Masyarakat Semarang, which managed to gather aid totaling IDR 120 million from activities at RRI Semarang.
Earlier, Perum Jamkrindo had already distributed aid for the Lombok earthquake victims. The aid was distributed through OJK amounting to IDR 50 million, through Perum Jamkrindo's Denpasar Branch Office IDR 60 million, through Baznas IDR 20 million, BUMDES Desa Selebung, Central Lombok IDR 10 million, and employees of Perum Jamkrindo for home repairs totaling IDR 11.117 million.
In mid-January, Asippindo and Perum Jamkrindo also initiated the distribution of aid to accelerate recovery in the areas affected by the Palu-Donggala earthquake and tsunami. Perum Jamkrindo collaborated with Asippindo, PIKA Perum Jamkrindo, and Kowajasa Group. In this follow-up aid distribution, Perum Jamkrindo provided support for the construction of a library room and reading garden for SD Negeri 1 Biromaru. Additionally, Perum Jamkrindo also contributed to the construction of a classroom for Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al Khairaat Pengawu.
