Perum Jamkrindo has reaffirmed its commitment to continuously provide full support for the guarantee of Food Security People's Business Credit (KUR). Through its guarantee services for KUR, Perum Jamkrindo aims to work together with stakeholders to ensure that MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) can play a significant role as the backbone of the national economy.
KUR contributes to making it easier for productive sector businesses to obtain financing from formal financial institutions. Perum Jamkrindo's Director of Guarantee Business, Amin Mas'udi, emphasized that the role of Jamkrindo in guaranteeing KUR is crucial for protecting banks as the credit distributors.
"Perum Jamkrindo, as the KUR guarantor, remains committed to continuing its contribution to empowering MSMEs," Amin stated during the Food Security KUR Disbursement and Economic Action for the People event at Miftahul Huda Islamic Boarding School in Manonjaya, Tasikmalaya Regency on Wednesday, February 27, 2019.
The event was attended by President Joko Widodo and several ministers, such as the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution and the Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Anak Agung Ngurah Puspayoga. In conjunction with the event, Perum Jamkrindo also disbursed a Partnership and Community Development Program (PKBL) assistance worth IDR 50 million, including economic aid based on mosques and prayer rooms, coffee cart business assistance, headscarves, and donations for santri (Islamic boarding school students).
Through its guarantee services for KUR, Amin Mas'udi further explained, Perum Jamkrindo aims to collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that MSMEs can play a significant role as the backbone of the national economy. He also stated that the program is designed to expand access to financing for productive businesses. According to Regulation of the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs No. 11 of 2017 on the Guidelines for the Implementation of People's Business Credit, the KUR interest rate has been reduced from 9% to 7%.
In 2018, Perum Jamkrindo's KUR guarantee volume reached IDR 50.5 trillion. From 2015 to the end of December 2019, the total volume of KUR guarantees provided by Perum Jamkrindo amounted to IDR 157.205 trillion. The KUR distribution is still dominated by the micro KUR scheme (66.7%), followed by the small KUR scheme (33%) and TKI (Indonesian Migrant Worker) KUR (0.3%). This performance reflects the government's commitment to ensuring equitable access to financing for small businesses.
Additionally, to accommodate financing for the tourism sector through KUR, the Ministerial Regulation No. 8 of 2018 was established as a revision of Ministerial Regulation No. 11 of 2017 regarding the Guidelines for the Implementation of KUR. The change took effect on September 20, 2018.
