As part of its commitment to the education sector, Perum Jamkrindo has once again initiated the Jamkrindo Peduli Pendidikan (JPP) movement. The initiative, which involves distributing school supplies packages, is held to celebrate the 49th anniversary of Perum Jamkrindo. The distribution was carried out simultaneously through the central office, 9 regional offices, and 56 branch offices across Indonesia.
Perum Jamkrindo's President Director, Randi Anto, explained that the Jamkrindo Peduli Pendidikan movement, first launched in 2018, aims to reduce the educational burden on underprivileged students, while also encouraging all employees of Perum Jamkrindo to be more involved in education-related issues.
This year, JPP provided 49,000 school supply packages, which included elementary and junior high school textbooks, knowledge books, fiction books, and educational tools such as stationery and notebooks. A total of 96 schools across Indonesia received the educational aid.
“This distribution of 49,000 school supplies is also a form of our gratitude as we celebrate Perum Jamkrindo’s 49th anniversary on July 1st,” said Randi Anto in a press release on Friday, June 21, 2019.
As in previous years, the JPP initiative also aims to break the record for the Most School Supplies Distributed to Students by the Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI). Perum Jamkrindo intends to surpass last year's record of distributing 30,333 school supply packages. "Breaking this record reflects our desire to always give more and provide the best for the country," added Randi.
For the Central Office, the distribution of school supplies took place at SD, SMP, and SMK Al Irsyad Al Islamiyah, Jakarta. The ceremonial handover was conducted by the Corporate Secretary, Abdul Bari. "The Jamkrindo Peduli Pendidikan movement is a tangible example of SOEs Present for the Nation. We hope that this assistance will be truly beneficial for the community," said Abdul Bari.
The Head of SMP Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyah, Junaidin H. Ishaka, stated that the aid provided by Perum Jamkrindo is beneficial because it comes at a timely moment, just before the new school year begins. "This school supply package is highly needed by students for the new school year," he added.
In addition to the JPP movement, the 49th anniversary celebrations of Perum Jamkrindo also included other social activities such as blood donations, eye examinations and free glasses distribution, as well as the provision of 4,000 food packages and donations for 3,000 orphans.
Earlier, Perum Jamkrindo organized a blood donation drive as part of the 49th-anniversary celebrations. This initiative is a commitment to helping those in need through blood donations by Perum Jamkrindo employees and the general public.
As part of the anniversary celebration, Perum Jamkrindo also made donations to orphans, railway crossing gatekeepers, renovated three mosques in Banyumas Regency, Central Java, and provided facilities at public cemeteries in Jakarta. These activities were carried out as part of the Ramadan Safari and iftar events held in 10 cities and at the central office.
The Ramadan Safari took place in Banjarmasin, Yogyakarta, Pekanbaru, Kendari, Bandung, Palembang, Surabaya, Malang, Denpasar, and Serang. Through this initiative, Perum Jamkrindo, which primarily operates in the credit guarantee business, aims to get closer to and share with the community, in line with the SOEs Present for the Nation (BHUN) program.
Perum Jamkrindo also provided free mudik transportation for 1,700 people using trains, buses from Jakarta to various regions in Java and Sumatra, as well as by sea with several routes, both from and to Java. This mudik program is part of their effort to facilitate safe and comfortable homecoming journeys.
