MSMEs as the Backbone of the Economy

Perum Jamkrindo continues to strengthen its role in supporting the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and cooperatives. MSMEs serve as the backbone of Indonesia’s economy, contributing significantly to national development.

To enhance MSME capacity, Perum Jamkrindo plays a key role through its credit guarantee business, enabling MSMEs to access financial loans. One of the main programs facilitated by Jamkrindo is the People’s Business Credit (KUR) program, which has been running for several years.

Perum Jamkrindo's Director of HR, General Affairs, and Compliance, Sulis Usdoko, emphasized the need for external support to help MSMEs overcome financing difficulties.

"Perum Jamkrindo provides MSMEs with access to financial institutions, allowing them to scale up their businesses," said Sulis Usdoko, speaking at the Creative SME Festival seminar in Yogyakarta on Saturday, August 3, 2019.

As a state-owned enterprise (BUMN), Perum Jamkrindo acts as a credit guarantor, helping financial institutions provide funding to MSMEs and cooperatives. This guarantee mechanism expands financing opportunities for MSMEs that previously struggled to obtain capital, thereby increasing their business growth potential.

Sulis Usdoko highlighted that Indonesia has enormous MSME development potential, stating:

"More stakeholders are now showing concern for MSME development in Indonesia. Moving forward, collaboration will be essential in enhancing competitiveness."

This success is attributed to sustainable business strategies, including: Enhancing human resource competencies, Developing value-added guarantee products, Expanding market penetration through innovation, Strengthening strategic collaborations with business partners.
