SLEMAN (KR) – A total of 70 households in Dusun Padasan, Pekembinangun, Pakem, Sleman, which have been experiencing difficulties with clean water due to the effects of cold lahar from the Kuning River, received assistance in obtaining clean water from Perum Jamkrindo’s Semarang Branch on Saturday (24/12). The assistance, which included a storage well and a piped water network to the residents’ homes, was inaugurated by Sleman’s Vice Regent, Yuni Satia Rahayu.
Ir Nanang Waskito, Director of Guarantee at Perum Jamkrindo, explained that the clean water provision was carried out through the Partnership and Community Development Program (PKBL). Its implementation involved an integrated work team with the local community, and the funds for constructing the facility, worth Rp94 million, were managed through self-management and community empowerment.
“This program is executed through mutual cooperation and is the result of the residents’ hard work,” he said during the inauguration of the Clean Water Provision (PAB) in Dusun Padasan.
In addition to the clean water project, he noted that several PKBL programs have been implemented by the Semarang Branch for the Central Java and DIY regions, including river basin greening programs and various cross-sector community empowerment initiatives. These include soft credit assistance, capital strengthening, and mentoring for several groups in farming, livestock, and various small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Vice Regent of Sleman, Hj Yuni Satia Rahayu, appreciated the support and measures taken by Perum Jamkrindo. The eruption disaster and cold lahar floods have caused several water springs to cease functioning and have disrupted the water supply for the DIY region, which has so far relied on water sources from the Merapi Sleman area. Therefore, support from various parties is still expected. “We hope that this clean water facility assistance will be well utilized by the residents,” she said.
