This festival is being held for the first time by Perum Jamkrindo and is expected to be an annual event to encourage the growth and development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM).
The opening ceremony was held by the President Director of Perum Jamkrindo, Randi Anto, accompanied by the Director of Finance, I. Rusdonobanu, and the Director of Business Guarantee, Amin Mas'udi, on Friday, November 29, at GOR Soemantri, Brodjonegoro, Kuningan, Jakarta.
This UMKM Festival event will be held over two days, concluding on Saturday, November 30, 2019. The event features a variety of UMKM products that can be enjoyed by the general public.
Randi Anto, the President Director of Perum Jamkrindo, stated that this event is held as part of Jamkrindo’s social responsibility to help grow UMKM. He also hopes this event will boost the spirit of UMKM development and increase public awareness of Jamkrindo's role.
“This UMKM Festival is organized to reinforce the role and function of Perum Jamkrindo as the only State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) in the field of UMKM guarantees,” said Randi Anto in his speech during the event opening.
He also added that this event aims to facilitate UMKM in improving their business capabilities and networking with various parties. “In this event, UMKM players can display their products and promote them to the public,” he explained.
The 2019 UMKM Festival is held in conjunction with the UMKM Appreciation Awards. A total of 68 UMKM were nominated, consisting of 37 micro-enterprises, 18 small businesses, and 13 medium-sized businesses. In addition, Perum Jamkrindo also organized a Seminar on Economic Outlook 2020 titled "Strategies for Strengthening the Capabilities of UMKM Human Resources in the Digital Era and Global Competition."
Ceriandri Widuri, Head of the Management Consultation Division for UMKM Development, mentioned that the event is held over two days, Friday and Saturday, November 29-30, 2019, at Plaza Festival and JS Luwansa Hotel. She mentioned that this is the first time Perum Jamkrindo has held the festival, and they hope to continue the event to support UMKM growth.
“This is the first time in 49 years of Jamkrindo’s involvement in supporting and providing guarantees for UMKM. It is also a form of Jamkrindo's commitment to creating a social impact for the development of UMKM,” said Ceriandri in her report.
Ceriandri explained that 87 booths of UMKM participated in the festival. The products on display include fashion, cosmetics, snacks, drinks, main dishes, as well as products from Jamkrindo’s partners and UMKM communities.
In addition to the UMKM exhibition, the event also includes business insight classes, one-on-one coaching, business licensing booths, a short video competition themed "Social Impact of UMKM," and various children's competitions, such as coloring contests, youth mini soccer, and traditional games like "gobak sodor."
