PT Jamkrindo (Persero) continues to support micro, small, medium enterprises (MSMEs), and cooperatives in enhancing value amid declining revenue due to the spread of the coronavirus. This state-owned guarantee company is also raising funds through crowdfunding for social causes to support efforts in mitigating the impact of the virus spread.
At Ciletuh Palabuhanratu Unesco Global Geopark, Jamkrindo provided training and hydroponic vegetable farming systems for the Ciletuh Homestay Association starting in mid-March. This initiative serves as a supplementary income for homestay owners. The training was conducted online to avoid face-to-face interactions, and participants were equipped with knowledge about maintaining physical distancing during the hydroponic vegetable cultivation process.
Additionally, Jamkrindo continues to assist its partnership loan recipients in various regions, including cashew farmers in Larantuka, East Nusa Tenggara; coffee farmers in Bali; coffee farmers in Garut; leather craftsmen in Garut; and others.
The latest initiative launched by the company is fundraising (crowdfunding) coinciding with Jamkrindo's 50th anniversary. Jamkrindo's President Director, Randi Anto, explained that internally, the company has implemented several measures to anticipate and disrupt the spread of the coronavirus, such as split teams, work from home (WFH), promoting healthy lifestyles, disinfecting the workplace, distributing masks to the public, and other activities. "In addition to these activities, we also want to raise funds that will be used to help address the various impacts of the spread of the coronavirus," said Randi Anto in a press release on Tuesday (March 31, 2020).
The spread of the virus has caused an increase in the number of infected individuals and fatalities. Furthermore, the economic impact is becoming more evident as economic activity in society weakens. Therefore, the funds raised will be used to mitigate both the direct and indirect effects of the pandemic on economic activities.
The funding for the campaign will come from donations made by Jamkrindo employees, donations from annual JP, Kowajasa, Jamkrindo's UPZ, and other activities related to the company's operations.
"The collection of donations from various sources aligns with the spirit of Jamkrindo's 50th-anniversary celebration, which focuses on Jamkrindo's Social Care program. Let us show our concern for others through fundraising to mitigate the impact of the coronavirus spread," said Randi.
Regarding risk mitigation, this state-owned credit guarantee company has issued and implemented a Business Continuity Protocol (BCP) for Covid-19 Risk Control in the company’s environment. The Head of Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Head of Risk Management and PUKM Division at Jamkrindo, Ceriandri Widuri, stated that Jamkrindo is committed to prioritizing the safety of its partners and employees in preventing the spread of Covid-19.
The BCP includes procedures for Covid-19 mitigation such as education about the virus and its symptoms, information on government referral hospitals, standard operating procedures (SOPs) for guest reception, and travel policies. Furthermore, it also includes guidelines and procedures for handling employees suspected of having Covid-19, as well as work from home policies.
"The development of this protocol is based on an analysis of the overall impact of the virus spread, including its effects on business and operations. The BCP we have developed follows the general standards for handling Covid-19 and best practices for emergency situations, while also adhering to the guidance of relevant stakeholders," said Ceriandri.
Additionally, several measures to prevent the spread of the virus have been implemented, such as disinfecting workspaces, ensuring cleanliness and sterilization of operational spaces and vehicles, to eliminate bacteria and viruses. Jamkrindo also provides hand sanitizers and masks and has installed Covid-19 awareness banners at various locations.
Jamkrindo continues to regularly encourage employees to pay attention to and maintain their health and the health of their families, wash their hands frequently, wear masks when experiencing flu or cough symptoms, and visit a doctor for further examination. "We have implemented a work from home system that is arranged in such a way as to not disrupt the guarantee services for the public and our partners," said Ceriandri.
