PT Jamkrindo, along with its subsidiary PT Jamkrindo Syariah, initiated a social movement to distribute aid to communities and healthcare facilities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The donations were voluntarily contributed through salary deductions from executives, holiday bonuses (THR) from employees, and company appreciation funds.
PT Jamkrindo President Director, Randi Anto, expressed his gratitude for the solidarity among employees, who successfully raised IDR 2.9 billion in donations.
"I am grateful that despite the pandemic, our employees and executives willingly contributed a portion of their income to help those in need. This initiative is our way of supporting affected communities and frontline healthcare workers," Randi stated in a press release on Tuesday, May 19, 2020.
The funds were used to provide: 6,600 food packages for communities in need, Medical assistance, including PPE kits, ventilators, medical and non-medical masks, and hand sanitizers, Education support, including scholarships for children of healthcare workers and individuals who lost their jobs due to layoffs.
Additionally, PT Jamkrindo allocated IDR 1.757 billion for ongoing community assistance, which was distributed across various provinces and districts through direct aid and BUMN Disaster Task Forces.
"We will continue distributing aid through our ‘Indonesia Bangkit’ movement, which includes PPE, medical equipment, and food supplies for hospitals, clinics, and vulnerable communities," Randi added.
In addition to COVID-19 relief, Jamkrindo remains committed to supporting MSMEs, ensuring their survival during the economic downturn. Key initiatives include : Partnership Loans – Providing working capital loans to micro-entrepreneurs who are feasible but not bankable, enabling them to sustain their businesses, Business Mentoring – Offering training and technical assistance to MSMEs, Loan Restructuring – Extending loan terms or postponing installment payments for MSMEs affected by the pandemic.
"Through our partnership program, we aim to help small businesses become more resilient, independent, and contribute to economic recovery," Randi explained.
As part of its community empowerment efforts, Jamkrindo has been training homestay owners in Ciletuh Palabuhanratu UNESCO Global Geopark since March 2020 in hydroponic farming. This initiative provides: Organic vegetable farming techniques to add value to homestays, Online training sessions to maintain social distancing, Alternative income sources for homestay owners affected by the tourism slowdown.
This program aligns with Jamkrindo’s broader efforts to support economic recovery through sustainable business solutions and financial assistance.
