PT Jamkrindo has distributed essential supplies worth Rp 50 million to assist flash flood victims in Cicurug, Sukabumi Regency, West Java. This aid aims to alleviate the suffering of affected residents following the disastrous flash flood on Monday, September 21, 2020.
PT Jamkrindo President Director, Randi Anto, emphasized that this Bina Lingkungan assistance reflects the company's commitment to social responsibility beyond its core business.
"As part of the community, we stand with those affected by disasters. We hope that our assistance can help ease the burden of the victims," said Randi Anto in a press release on Thursday, September 24, 2020.
The relief package was symbolically handed over by PT Jamkrindo’s Sukabumi Branch Office team to the joint disaster relief post managed by: National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Sukabumi Regency, Sukabumi Regency Communications and Information Office.
Head of Logistics at BPBD Sukabumi, Iwan Herniwan, expressed gratitude for the aid provided by PT Jamkrindo, stating:
"This assistance is extremely valuable for those affected by the flash floods in Sukabumi."
The flash floods impacted 12 villages across three sub-districts, with Cicurug being the hardest hit. According to Sukabumi Regent Marwan Hamami, the disaster resulted in three fatalities and significant damage to residential areas.
One of the affected residents, Akmal, thanked PT Jamkrindo for its support and expressed hope that the community could soon resume their daily activities.
This is not the first time PT Jamkrindo has provided disaster relief assistance in 2020. The company has previously supported victims of: Flash floods in Lebak, Banten, Floods in Garut and Sumedang, West Java, Floods in the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek).
Beyond disaster relief, PT Jamkrindo has also actively contributed to pandemic relief efforts since March 2020. Assistance provided includes: Medical equipment donations, Basic food aid (sembako), Educational scholarships, Economic empowerment programs.
