Jamkrindo Guarantees Loans Amounting to Rp54.29 Trillion

JAKARTA – Perum Jamkrindo recorded total credit guarantees of Rp54.29 trillion throughout last year.

Nahid Hudaya, President Director of Jamkrindo, stated that the largest contribution came from existing credit guarantees, which amounted to Rp34.09 trillion or 62.79% of the total guarantees. Meanwhile, 35.57% of the total was contributed by guarantees for the People’s Business Credit (KUR), reaching Rp20.2 trillion.

Additionally, guarantee realizations increased by 60% compared to the previous year’s Rp33.95 trillion. This achievement surpassed the company’s target for last year of Rp36 trillion.

“The growth in existing (non-KUR) credit tends to be stable year by year, in line with the commercial business continuously expanding its credit,” Nahid explained. He added that the sharp surge in KUR guarantees was due to customers switching from PT Asuransi Kredit Indonesia (Askrindo).

Furthermore, the growth in KUR guarantees was influenced by increased disbursement of KUR loans by the government and banks. In a related development, PT Penjaminan Kredit Daerah Jawa Timur (Jamkrida Jatim) realized credit guarantees of Rp315.84 billion in 2011, marking an increase of 238.55% compared to Rp93.29 billion in the previous year.

Chusnul Maarif, Director of Guarantee at Jamkrida Jatim, noted that credit guarantees were dominated by the productive business sector, which accounted for 94% of total guarantees or Rp206.57 billion. The remaining 6%, or Rp15.97 billion, was allocated for guarantees in the non-productive sector. “In accordance with the directive of the Governor of East Java, we must guarantee MSMEs with productive businesses to expand the multiplier effect,” he explained.

Meanwhile, another regional credit guarantee institution, PT Penjaminan Kredit Daerah Bali Mandara (Jamkrida Bali), provided credit guarantees amounting to Rp38.3 billion during the period from February to December 2011. The institution, owned by the Bali Provincial Government, began disbursing credit guarantees in February last year, and its guarantee realizations have exceeded the company’s target of Rp34 billion.
