As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, PT Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Jamkrindo) has donated a digital library to Sekolah Dasar Negeri (SDN) Rancaekek 1 in Bandung Regency, West Java. This marks the first time Jamkrindo has provided digital library assistance, emphasizing its commitment to education and human resource development.
Jamkrindo’s Corporate Secretary, Abdul Bari, stated that this initiative reflects the company’s dedication to improving education through its Bina Lingkungan (Community Development) program.
"We consistently support human resource development in education by providing community assistance. We hope this digital library will enhance knowledge and learning quality for students at SDN Rancaekek 1," Abdul Bari said in a press release on Friday, December 18, 2020.
The symbolic handover of the digital library was made to SDN Rancaekek 1 Principal, Yayat Ruhiyat, who expressed his gratitude for Jamkrindo’s contribution.
"We are grateful for this digital library donation from PT Jamkrindo. We hope this support will improve students’ literacy and overall education quality in Rancaekek," Yayat said.
A digital library is a collection of books in electronic format, customized to meet the needs of its readers. In the case of SDN Rancaekek 1, the digital library is tailored for elementary-level education.
According to Abdul Bari, this initiative aligns with Jamkrindo’s digital transformation strategy, which includes shifting from manual to digital business processes through various applications.
"This is the first time we are providing digital library assistance, but in the future, we may expand similar initiatives to other schools in need," he added.
Although Jamkrindo primarily operates as a state-owned credit guarantee company, it remains committed to social contributions beyond its core business operations.
Throughout 2020, Jamkrindo has distributed educational assistance across multiple regions, including: DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, Riau, South Sulawesi, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan.
Educational assistance provided includes: Scholarships, Reading gardens, School building renovations, Toilet facilities, Educational infrastructure and learning tools, Jamkrindo’s Role in Economic and Social Development.
