PT Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Jamkrindo) has provided humanitarian aid to the victims of the earthquake in Mamuju and Majene, West Sulawesi, on Saturday, January 16, 2021. The assistance, consisting of daily necessities and essential supplies, was distributed as a form of empathy and corporate responsibility towards communities affected by natural disasters.
Jamkrindo's President Director, Putrama Wahju Setyawan, expressed deep condolences for the victims and emphasized the company's commitment to helping those in need.
"We extend our heartfelt condolences to the victims of the earthquake in West Sulawesi. We hope that the assistance we are providing can help ease the burden of those affected," said Putrama.
The 6.2-magnitude earthquake, which struck on Friday, January 15, 2021, at 02:28 WITA, resulted in at least 46 fatalities, hundreds of injuries, and thousands of displaced residents.
The relief aid was distributed through Jamkrindo’s Regional Office IX Makassar, Mamuju Branch Office, and Palu Branch Office. The assistance included: Food supplies, Essential equipment, Fuel, Medicines and medical supplies.
According to Putrama, as a credit guarantee company, Jamkrindo’s role extends beyond financial services—it also has a strong social commitment.
"We are part of society, and in times of crisis, we want to be present and support those affected by disasters," he added.
Symbolically, Jamkrindo’s Mamuju Branch Head, Akbar Utami, handed over the aid to the State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Disaster Task Force in Mamuju.
Jamkrindo has consistently provided aid for disaster victims, including: Flood relief efforts in Lebak, Banten, Flood aid in Garut and Sumedang, West Java, Support for flood victims in Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek), Assistance for flash flood victims in Sukabumi, West Java.
Beyond disaster relief, Jamkrindo has actively contributed to COVID-19 pandemic relief efforts since March 2020 by distributing: Medical equipment, Basic food packages, Educational scholarships, Economic empowerment programs
