PT Jamkrindo has distributed essential goods and medicines to flood victims in Karawang and Subang Regencies, West Java. The aid aims to ease the burden of those affected by the disaster.
PT Jamkrindo’s Corporate Secretary, Abdul Bari, stated that the assistance reflects the company’s empathy and social responsibility toward communities impacted by natural disasters. "We hope this aid can help alleviate the suffering of the victims," said Abdul Bari in a press release on Thursday, February 11, 2021.
Symbolically, the aid was handed over by PT Jamkrindo’s Regional Office IV Bandung team and Purwakarta Branch Office team at two locations. In Karawang, the aid was received by Karawang Deputy Regent, H. Aep Saepulloh, at the Karawang Task Force Post. Meanwhile, in Cikampek, the aid was handed over at the Baitul Mal Ku flood relief post to the foundation's founder, Ibu Liyan Fitri.
Representing PT Jamkrindo, the donation was delivered by Dody Novarianto, Head of Regional Office IV Bandung, and Robby Julandri, Head of the Purwakarta Branch, along with the Jamkrindo Peduli team.
Similarly, in Subang, aid was distributed at the Hidayatul Jariyah Mosque relief post in Kedung Gede Hamlet, Mulyasari Village. The aid was handed over to disaster relief coordinator Sulaeman by the Purwakarta Branch Office team.
Karawang Deputy Regent Aep Saepulloh expressed his gratitude for PT Jamkrindo’s assistance to the affected communities. He stated that the aid would be distributed to several flood-hit areas, including Rengasdengklok, Teluk Buyung Pakis Jaya, Tirtamulya, Cikampek, Purwasari, Cilamaya Selatan, and other affected regions.
Similarly, Ibu Liyan Fitri thanked PT Jamkrindo for its support of Karawang and Subang residents, particularly those in Ciasem and Cilamaya. She confirmed that the aid would be delivered directly to these flood-affected areas.
Subang flood relief coordinator Sulaeman also expressed appreciation for PT Jamkrindo’s assistance, noting that part of the aid would be sent to Al Muhlisin Mosque relief post in Pamanukan Kota for further distribution to affected residents.
The floods that inundated 17 districts in Karawang were caused by heavy rainfall and overflowing rivers on Sunday, February 7, 2021. Water levels varied across the affected areas.
Similarly, in Subang, 32,000 people from 5,764 households were forced to evacuate due to flooding that affected 75 villages across 11 districts in the regency.
PT Jamkrindo has a long history of providing aid to disaster victims. In previous years, the company has assisted flood victims in Lebak (Banten), Garut and Sumedang (West Java), Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek), and flash flood victims in Sukabumi (West Java).
Recently, PT Jamkrindo also extended aid to earthquake victims in Mamuju and Majene, West Sulawesi, providing daily necessities and essential supplies.
