PT Jamkrindo, through the Jamkrindo Peduli Movement, has provided assistance under its Community Development Program to victims of a landslide disaster in Pasanggrahan Village, Tegalwaru District, Purwakarta Regency, West Java. The aid consists of basic necessities and daily supplies.
PT Jamkrindo’s Corporate Secretary, Abdul Bari, stated that the assistance was given as a form of empathy and corporate responsibility toward communities affected by natural disasters. “We hope this aid will help alleviate the burden of those impacted by the disaster,” said Abdul Bari in a written statement on Thursday, February 18, 2021.
Recent heavy rainfall has led to flooding and land movement in Pasanggrahan Village, forcing 88 families, comprising 392 individuals, to relocate as their homes were rendered uninhabitable due to severe structural damage.
The aid from PT Jamkrindo was symbolically handed over in Purwakarta by the company’s Community Development Program team, along with representatives from Regional Office IV Bandung and Purwakarta Branch Office. The handover was conducted by Dody Novarianto, Head of Regional Office IV Bandung, and Robby Julandri, Head of Purwakarta Branch, to Riki, Head of the Pasanggrahan Village Disaster Response Team.
The handover ceremony was witnessed by Puteri Komarudin, a member of the House of Representatives (DPR) representing the Purwakarta electoral district, on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. The aid package included 100 food packages for affected families, 320 boxes of ready-to-eat meals, bottled water, baby supplies, milk, and tarpaulins.
On behalf of the affected residents, Riki expressed gratitude for the support and assistance provided. He emphasized that the aid was crucial as many had lost their homes, and the relocation process would take a significant amount of time. Additionally, Puteri Komarudin extended her appreciation to PT Jamkrindo for its commitment to disaster relief efforts.
This is not the first time PT Jamkrindo has provided assistance to disaster victims. The company has previously supported flood victims in Lebak (Banten), Garut and Sumedang (West Java), the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek), and flash flood victims in Sukabumi (West Java). Beyond disaster relief efforts, PT Jamkrindo has actively contributed to supporting communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As part of its corporate social responsibility, the credit guarantee company—now a member of the Indonesia Financial Group (IFG) holding in insurance and guarantee—has provided medical equipment, food packages, educational scholarships, economic empowerment support, and other forms of COVID-19-related assistance.
In addition to disaster relief, PT Jamkrindo plays a crucial role in supporting the government’s National Economic Recovery (PEN) program by providing working capital credit guarantees to protect, sustain, and enhance the economic capacity of businesses, especially micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
